Past performances include: Microsoft, Starbucks, Seattle Seahawks, Mariners, Sonics, Costco, Nordstrom's, NAACP, KING TV, WA Democratic Party, The Ebony Fashion Fair, BET's Def Comedy Jam, and many many more. Danny performs (with tracks) as a single, duo, or trio (add guitar and/or percussion) depending upon your budget and available space. Professional, dependable, and unique, Danny's stunningly soulful captivating performances on Tenor, Soprano Saxes & Flute are something to behold!

My partner and I both have the same birthday week, I wanted to make it special and the highlight of the evening was undeniably the performance by David. He is a great saxophonist, and knew exactly what to play to make it special. From the moment we opened the door to the room, I knew it was going to be great with the song selection. And for musicians out there his talent was evident, each song he played was technical, precise, and heartfelt with emotions. He played a mix of songs and a request I had, each piece infused with a unique style that captivated my partner. He kept the energy perfect throughout the night. His soulful melodies made our birthday truly special and unforgettable and made my partner cry with emotion.

I have a lifetime love affair with the sound of the Saxophone and Flute! I attempt to convey that, and move people to the fullest every time I step onstage!
About
A Seattle WA native, Tenor, Soprano Saxophonist & Flute player Danny Welsh has long been a fixture on the Seattle, Northwest, and West Coast live music and recording scene. Born in South Seattle's culturally diverse Rainier Valley, Danny grew up listening to his mother's record collection, which included Miles Davis, Stanley Turrentine, and many other Soul and Jazz artists of the 60's and 70's. Starting on Alto Sax in the 4th grade, and with the help of teaching great Johnnie Jessen, he progressed quickly and by the time high school began, was well on his way to becoming a musician worth reckoning. Around this time, sax giants Ronnie Laws, Michael Brecker, Ernie Watts, and David Sanborn became huge influences. After recieving numerous local, and two national awards for his solo prowess, Danny received a full scholarship to Seattle's Cornish Institute. With school under his belt, and after touring for three years with Seattle based funk band "Contents Under Pressure", Danny returned to Seattle to raise kids, and began many years of recording (local radio, TV spots, many records and CD's from many artists), playing clubs, and a myriad of musical venues and events region wide. Danny is married to Bay Area native and fabulous singer April Todd. He has shared the stage with and opened for Branford Marsalis, Kenny G, Michael Henderson, and many more.
Danny's show is wonderfully polished and fully self contained! Both as the focal point of any gathering, or easy listening background music. Very comfortable on stage and Emcee friendly, Danny uses a Bose Tower L1 Model II state of the art sound system that delivers incredible sound at any volume. His Sax adds just the right touch of warmth and class to any event! Danny offers a wide selection of Soul, R&B, and Jazz hits that can easily be tailored to fit your unique needs. This is Soul and R&B infused Jazz Saxophone at it's finest!!
Additional Booking Notes
I'm fully self contained and use a state of the art Bose Tower L1 Model II sound system that offers incredible clarity of sound at any volume. Lighting is also available upon request.
