Darius realizes that he has a gift from God and he feels it is his calling to share that gift with others as much as possible. Darius is more than just a musician.

Saxophonist Darius Marcell Starks is a native of Irmo, South Carolina. He’s an alumnus of Dutch Fork High School, Class of 2012. He’s also a 2016 Cum Laude Alumnus of Newberry College, obtaining a conferred B.A. degree in Music with a minor in Jazz Studies. Darius developed his love and passion for music at an early age by the inspiration of his mother, Mrs. Artena Starks -Pianist & Choir Director.

Throughout Darius’ musical tenure, he’s earned various awards and recognitions including The Most Valuable Player with the Newberry College Big Band and The Outstanding Soloist Award, to name a few. Darius is a fresh, young artist with aspirations of taking his music worldwide. With 12 plus years of Saxophone experience and counting, Darius’ musical talents will be around for years to come.
