Dave "The Piano Guy" Diedrich

I have seen Dave Diedrich perform a number of times. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable. Why, you ask? When I listen to Dave play and especially sing, I remember. I remember a past love, her smell, the sparkle of her eyes, the bluebird day where bluebirds flew. The love for her I had at that moment. Love. I remember getting pushed out by the rip tide in Fire Island with my 8 year old daughter knowing for sure that my carelessness would kill us both. Terror. But then bumping into a man 300 yards from shore who carried us in to safety. Miracle. And when I hear Dave sing, I remember now. Because that is where I am at this moment and so glad I am.

It’s some kind of alchemy that Dave produces that makes my mind and heart resonate with him like a tuning fork. The honesty of his voice, the phrasing, the technical skill so great you just assume that it comes naturally, forgetting all the hard work it takes to create his sound. And so, yes, I love to hear this man play, but I go and listen knowing that I will be taken somewhere. Some places are fantastic and gleeful. Some are dark, like a dream you can’t wake up from. But I go. I go because Dave makes me feel, feel so deeply. Isn’t that what great music is all about?

I can't say enough great things about working with Dave. We hired him to be the musical entertainment for a party and we are so glad we did. For starters, he is an absolutely brilliant musician and my guests were so complimentary of his performance. He was engaging with everyone at the party, accepted song requests, made everyone laugh and just had an unbelievable stage presence. We will most definitely hire Dave again for future events. Thanks Dave!!

We saw Dave for the first time at a private party. He definitely gave life to this party, there were tons of people dancing and singing along. His voice and piano skills are top notch. I’m very excited to see one of his next shows soon. I urge everyone to see Dave “The Piano Guy” Diedrich perform, you will love him.
