David communicated with me throughout the process - from changing the initial date, then changing the start time - without an issue. David is easy to work with and he accommodates any request. This is the first time our condo association held an event with live music, and David was the perfect introduction to improve the Association's social events with excitement. I had about 55 to 60 people of varying ages at my Shift/Christmas party in my home. David played and sang a variety of songs that catered to everyone. Most of the time a guitar single is pleasant background music. Your guests will be able to eat, drink and chat but believe me they are listening! They will approach you after or during the event if they are enjoying the music.
Having a bad guitar player can ruin your event and be an embarrassment to you personally. Also keep in mind that people like LIVE music. A guitar player that uses backing tracks (singing and playing along to a tape) is usually covering up some weaknesses in some cases, but not all.
If you are looking for more of a listening/dance type sound I recommend you use my band “The David Donahue Band “ If you have a special song that is not on my play list I will be happy to learn it for you if you give me some advance notice.

Thank you for your interest. I’m an experienced actor, singer, and guitar player with over 30 years of experience. While studying at Stella Adler Theater Conservatory in New York City in the late 70s and early 80s, I started playing a guitar single as a way to make money between acting gigs. The guitar solo soon became a major part of my performing experience.
I have performed at Walt Disney World as a lead actor, singer, and entertainer. In addition, I have performed at Sea World at the 6000-seat Bayside Stadium performing in front of thousands of people singing and accompanying myself on the guitar. My experience also includes Paramount Studios / Carowinds theme park in South Carolina as a main stage performer. In addition, I have played on several cruise ships in the Florida area as well as corporate events. My Guitar playing experience spans local pubs, restaurants, weddings, and charity events among others, and rounds out my experience in the entertainment industry.
From beach music to standards or music from the 40s to today's future classics, I play a variety of music that is sure to please everyone. My vocal style has earned me standing ovations on the stages of Orlando Florida and reviews from The Orlando Sentential and Gainesville Sun that would be the envy of any entertainer.
I’m not a karaoke singer and I don’t use backing tracks. I sing and accompany myself in the tradition of singer-songwriters. My finger-picking style gives a rich full sound that enables me to provide great cocktail, wedding music, or background music.
