David Floodstrand

Wether you hire me as a solo performer or with an ensemble, expect me to show up in your choice of tuxedo, suit, or business casual. I will typically arrive 90 minutes to 2 hours before your guests to set up sound equipment and do a soundcheck with the band (if applicable), same if hired as a DJ. As a vocalist most of the music I do is reflective of the great american songbook with a jazz flavor, great for cocktail hour or the dinner hour. If hired as a DJ & Emcee expect a medium interaction with all announcements and events handled with professionalism, working seamlessly with the other event professionals like the videographer, photographer, and banquet captain or manager.

David Floodstrand is a vocalist who's love for Jazz & Blues resonates from his heart, soul, and throat. His passion for this music is evident from the first note, and falls upon ones ears as soft as evening rain, or deep like a lion's growl. Fluid in the style and sophistication of Jazz flavors penned from the hands of such greats as Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and has been compared to phrasing reminicent of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Louie Prima, Harry Connick Jr, Michael Buble, Ray Charles, and Lou Rawls. Mr Floodstrand is fluent in a range of styles from jazz, to blues, bossa-nova, and samba, sung in English, French, and Portuguese, as well as classical, flamenco, and even rock classics, soul, and r&b. You can find him swinging these and his original compositions at a variety of venues in the Chicago area and throughout the midwest.

Available for engagements as a simple duo of guitar and vocals, piano and vocals, or a trio, quartet, up to an 8 piece big band. David has sung at venues such as Chicago's Green Mill, Chambers, Mayne Stage, Heartland Cafe, Cellar Bistro, and Mondo Cafe to name a few. You can catch David perform with with his band, as a duo, or solo performer.
