Communication and collaboration. That means questions and answers. I want to know what people want and need so I can best design my own goals for a gig and meet them. Expect me to ask questions - about the art AND about the logistics. The goal is to avoid surprises on every side (unless surprises are what you’re after!). If at all possible, I aim to have a comprehensive plan in place well before any performance or recording so there is a clear road to success for everyone involved. Musically, I hope to match the feel of your event or project. Tell me what vibes you’re hoping for and that can guide programming and planning. I want to help make it more of whatever it already is, to amplify the aesthetic already in place.
My first freelance gig was a wedding the summer before my junior year of high school with a brass quintet. After that, I was off to the races! In the years since, I’ve had the opportunity to play horn in classical and traditional music with bands, orchestras, and chamber ensembles throughout the Carolinas. Outside of the classical music space, I’ve been pleased to perform and record in various popular genres, notably as a soloist with Your Neighborhood Orchestra (with Charlotte New Music) in Lost in Space, a long form collaborative multi-genre, multimedia production debuted in 2022.
If you need more than one brass player, I am also a founding and current member of Stumptown Brass, a brass collective based in the Charlotte metro area.
I love opportunities to expand my horizons and create positive experiences for audiences! I’m glad to discuss possibilities with anyone searching for a horn or other brass sound for their event or project.
