After loving David’s performance at the Magic Castle, we thought his blend of amazing magic skills and deadpan comic delivery would be perfect for our Halloween party. And we were right! David delivered a stage performance and a close-up performance, and did walking around magic—and all of it was captivating. He was also fun to hang out with before and afterward. A must-hire!

Hi, my name is David Shao. I am a magician member at the Academy of Magical Arts, aka the Magic Castle, and I have been a member there since 2022. I majored in Drama at UC Irvine, and performed at TEDx there. My magic involves a lot of character work that I developed over the years, blending seamlessly with comedy to create a highly engaging and entertaining experience. It’s a unique approach that captivates audiences through humor and personality, setting my performances apart without relying on traditional storytelling. I would describe my performance as dry and dead-pan, that is both captivating and deeply engaging. If you have seen my performance, you will know that my style is very unique. I have also done some consultation work for big name magicians, as well as for TV.
