Denise Russell

Denise Russell is a Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist. Growing up in church,Denise says"My main love is creating and singing Praise and Worship music and leading other's in Praise...that is my highest calling in life...and I am humbled.. and honored.. by that callng".

Denise LOVES being a part of the Bride and Groom's special day by offering her beautiful, unmistakably wonderful voice. Denise has collaborated with Eliot Sloan, Lead Singer of the band Blessid Union of Souls, Alton Lee Hood of the Grammy nominated Disciples of Christ(DOC) and more. Denise is available for hire for musical performances at Fairs, Art Galleries,Corporate Events and Venues,Civic Events and Private Parties as well as Restaurants and Coffeehouse/Cafe's.

Denise Russell has opened for R&B singer Faith Evans, at the House of Blues Cleveland(making her one of the first local artists to sing the Main Stage at House of Blues-Cleveland). She has also played at Tangier's, Mustard Seed Market/Cafe,Nautica Pavilion to name a few. She collaborated with Pat Mcgrath, Steve Tveit (former Manager of Omnisound Studios in Nashville) on "Disconnected",her five song EP. Her studio musicians on the EP were Pat Mcgrath-acoustic guitar,Mike Durham(Dave Matthews Band) on electric guitar, Mike Rojas on piano/keys, Matt Mckenise on bass and John Gardner(The Dixie Chicks) on drums..
Denise has also opened for the Michael Stanley Band, supported stages for
Norah Jones and Diana Krall to name a few.

Denise Russell's voice could be best described as a cross between Adele,Shawn Colvin and Rickie Lee Jones.
Denise describes herself in these words, "I am a romantic and it shows in my musical style of smooth jazz laced with adult contemporary woven with alternative undertones. I love music... and I am honored to have been given this gift and I am humbled when someone tells me how much my music touches them, or how one of my songs has helped them get through a rough patch...that's a great feeling..to know that you've changed someones life for the better in some way.."LOVE that!!!

Denise requires very simple set up for stage:
1. chair
2. guitar/guitar stand
3. small table for water
4. guitar amplifier
5.mic/mic stand
6. sound check is a must!
7. No special lighting requirements. Venue lighting is fine and can be discussed if lights are too bright or not bright enough.
