Derek Young, Bagpiper

We hire bagpipers annually for a Ladies' Golf tournament and I must say Derek was the best so far. He was dressed in his regalia, he played great, and was happy to lead the processional through the parking lot and upstairs in the clubhouse. He was so easy to communicate with and responded to our impromptu suggests with ease!

With only one day notice Derek agreed to play at a funeral for my brother-in-law, who was a 34 year Asst. Chief for East Chicago, IN Fire Dept. Derek showed up on time, played wonderfully and made the service a memorable one for everyone but especially my sister and her family. Thank you Derek.

We had Derek at our St. Patrick’s day party for our bar and he was so flexible and was able to move through the crowd no problem! Everyone loved the music and we will definitely be asking him to come back!!

Derek performed for us at a bittersweet memorial for a fallen Marine. We met with the Marine’s family as we do every year around this time to remember Luke and share stories of his life. I did not have a playlist for Derek as I was not familiar with bagpipe tunes. I explained the reason for the event and he came up with the right songs for the occasion. It was a beautiful performance and our fallen Marine’s family was very moved. I would highly recommend Derek to anyone looking for this kind of performance.

We wanted a bagpiper to play Amazing Grace at the cemetery for a funeral, and it was exactly as we imagined. Could not have been better!
