Devlin Pierce plays original and cover music with leanings toward indie rock, alternative, and country. Devlin boasts both an extensive original repertoire as well as a catalog of well over a hundred different covers with fresh takes on songs from artists like Pixies, R.E.M., Blue Oyster Cult, Van Morrison - even a little Biz Markie and Coolio. Need a quick set or a full night of music? Devlin can deliver either. Every show is a big deal- there's no such thing as a small gig.

Price Range: $200 and up
Gig Length: 60 - 180 minutes
I offer at least a two hour set of covers and/or originals at the discretion of the client. I can provide my own sound for a small to mid size setting, however I do not offer an actual PA for other use or large settings. My fee includes my set up and tear down as well as the actual performance. Given enough advance notice I can take reasonable cover requests, however only requests that I feel I can perform with excellence will be honored and none are guarantied. I show up early to get set up and tear down at the appropriate time, generally after the event. Feel free to ask questions, nothing is too trivial.
There may be no two things in life Devlin Pierce loves more than music and a long road trip, and through the years his devotion to music has led him on the longest, most meandering road trip imaginable. From the crisp colors of the Carolinas to the burnt-sienna landscape of Mexico, from Boston's brimming songwriter scene to the nascent one in Springfield, Missouri, Pierce has always let music be h...is compass, writing his next song about where it lands him.
Pierce first picked up guitar at age 13, teaching himself to play writing his own songs from the beginning. He found a place to perform for an audience in his family church in Charlotte, North Carolina. His formative years saw music and church intertwine even more in his life, taking him on missionary trips through South America and Russia and to Texas for a one-year internship. His time away had a profound effect on his songwriting, altering his worldview and exposing him to new sounds. Pierce returned to Charlotte in 2001 a different man; praise music was no longer his calling, and when he met Julius Yoder of The Stiltskins he co-founded the band Izzy Star and embraced rock 'n' roll. Pierce’s time with Izzy Star saw him pack area clubs and draw major-label attention, but the band imploded in 2003, leaving him to seek the next road to travel down. It turned out to be one leading to Boston; he went to the city for a wedding and came back with the keys to an apartment.
With an apartment full of musicians, baby grand piano in the living room, an organ in one bedroom and three Berklee students as roommates, it was in Boston where Pierce blossomed as a songwriter. He entrenched himself in the city's songwriter scene, playing open mic nights, rubbing shoulders with the likes of The Click5, Rachel Loy, Nate Campany, Sondre Lerche, and Dave Bazan, as well as collaborating with Mister Sister's Amelia Emmet, Winter Took His Life's Susanna Brandin, and Cedarwell's Eric Neave. Marriage took him down the highways of the Midwest, first to St. Louis and later Springfield, alternately breaking his heart and mending it along the way. His music tells the stories of every stop--the hurt, the confusion and the hope that a good song or a fresh start can provide. There is always another trip ahead for Devlin Pierce, and you and he can rest assured it will be music that leads him there... and that he'll be back to tell you about what he finds.
I provide sound for small to mid size rooms, however not an actual PA for event use- only for my own personal use. Any thing larger than a 50 to 70 person setting will require a PA be provided. Input wise I require 2 XLR inputs and a 1/4" input. Apart from that I always provide my own mics, cables, and stands unless deemed unnecessary. For cover sets I do perform with a notebook on a music stand and generally seated. Feel free to ask any questions, I certainly will to be sure everything is taken care of before the gig.

Classic rock, 90's grunge, 80's alternative, blues, jazz, soul, funk, even country. I listen to a bit of everything and am influenced by all of it to some degree or another. That said, I tend to take a leaning toward Dave Matthews Band, Bob Dylan, Pearl Jam, Jack White, Jimi Hendrix, and The Rolling Stones. Over all, I'm my own conglomeration of my musical experience that continues to change over time as I continue to listen and to perform.
Basic PA preferred (required for larger settings) - at least 4 inputs.

Roxanne E. said “The band played for 3 hours and were amazing! My guests loved them! Great classic rock songs! They knew how to manage the guests and venue for noise levels!!!…”
