The Magic of David Devlin

David Devlin has been studying and performing magic and mentalism all over the United States for over 38 years. Originally from Texas, David found his calling in magic at the young age of 4 when his grandparents gave him a magic set for his birthday. David fell in love with the art and never quit learning. He read and memorized every book on magic he could get his hands on. This is still true. His library has well over 1,500 books devoted entirely to magic and mentalism! David is considered by many to be a living encyclopedia of magic.

Beginning in his late teens, he received a diploma from The Royal Academy of Magical Arts, and also earned an extension degree in Magic: the Performance Art from The University of California at Fullerton.

As a performer, David was named “Entertainer of the Year” by the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

While David is well versed in all forms of performance magic and its allied arts, and has performed on some of the finest stages in the country, as well as in sideshows and sidewalks, his biggest love remains the art of Close-Up Magic.

"For me, it is up-close and personal,” he smiles. "It happens right under your nose, and often right in your own hands! That's magic," he explains.

Unlike many other magicians, David only uses sleight-of-hand. "There are no 'trick cards' or 'trick coins' here. With me, what you see is what you get," he muses. And, while his plots are those of the classics of magic, his act is his own, consisting exclusively of magic created by David himself.

David lives in Idaho Falls, Idaho USA with his wife, Kristi. They have three children, Eric, Gabby, and Jeremy.
