"I thought that was a CD!"
That's a common response Diana Li receives when performing - until they see her singing and playing live. Her polished voice still holds emotions as she coos soothing ballads or belts soulful tunes. Her pure tone is a treat to the ears, whether she is the center of attention or a refined backdrop to a restaurant. Her broad repertoire encompasses everything from Popular (Top40) to Broadway/Disney to Jazz to Classical, as her versatile voice seems to know no bounds and appeals to audiences of all ages.
Diana accompanies herself when singing with over 20 years of piano study (since the ripe age of four and a half.) She gives private music lessons in addition to performing regularly. She's also recorded several professional tracks, many of which can be found on her full-length CD, "Dream & Do."
As a diligent student, Diana passed all levels through Advanced of Certificate of Merit (The Music Teacher's Association of California's official evaluation process of performance, theory, and ear training.) She's won laurels from the California Bach Festival, Convention, Guild and many others. Her experience in acting and musical theater began at an early age and has been featured in several productions such as "Pippin" and "Bye Bye Birdie." She was awarded in her high school's premier jazz choir as "Best Musician" and toured in Europe at world famous jazz festivals such as The Montreaux Jazz Festival. Her choir also won the Reno Jazz Festival competition.
Her deep experience ranges from regular restaurant gigs (currently, Seasons 52 in South Coast Plaza) to weddings, charity events, Hollywood clubs, bookstores/cafes, malls, professional Christmas caroling, and culture festivals. She has performed at such high profile events as a Lakers game, UCLA graduation, and was selected to appear in the Taiwanese equivalent of American Idol. She was top 10 at Disneyworld’s American Idol Attraction.
Diana's love for music is imminent in everything she does and always has, and her musical talent and charm is a lovely addition to any venue.
