Overview
Dizzy With a Dame is an homage both to the great small jazz groups of the swing era such as the Benny Goodman Sextet, Count Basie's Kansas City Six, and Artie Shaw's Gramercy Five, and the "girl singers" of the same era such as Helen Ward, Martha Tilton, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Helen Forrest. Dizzy With a Dame also explores the show tunes of Cole Porter, the Gershwins, Lerner and Loewe, and Irving Berlin with the same infectious swing groove!
Dizzy With a Dame would love to play your swing dance, wedding, art fair, outdoor summer concert, festival, gallery opening or any other event that needs a little swing! We are a 6 piece band, but can adjust to fit your needs!

I produce a burlesque show and have worked with Dizzy With A Dame twice now as the live music to accompany our performance. They rewrote a couple songs for us ala PMJ, participated in rehearsal time and put on amazing show the night of. They are a pleasure to work with, the crowd loves them and their music is on point, highly recommend!

Dizzy With A Dame played at our Holiday Party and they were amazing! They had great energy and the music was enjoyable to all guests. There were a number of instruments used and the lead singer has the most beautiful voice! They were professional, friendly, and timely.

Meghan was great to work with....she was responsive, great communications and wow, she filled a difficult gig. I was looking for someone who could sing "Dammit, Janet" from Rocky Horror Picture Show and not only had she performed the Janet role twice before but she found a wonderful person to sing the duet with her for my sister's birthday. We had a change of venue and she just rolled with it. Thank you!

This group is so much fun! They play loads of 1920s and 30s classic jazz numbers, and they sometimes draw a lively swing dance crowd. The singer is charismatic and skillful, providing a great anchor for the band. The instrumentalists are superb improvisers and it’s a pleasure to listen to their solos.

What to Expect
Dizzy With A Dame is a six piece swing jazz band complete with: female vocalist, rhythm guitar, upright bass, saxophone, clarinet and drums! We can accommodate the needs of the event by playing as a trio, quartet, quintet, or sextet! If needed, we can also provide PA!
We are extremely enthusiastic musicians who have a passion for swing jazz standards from the 20's to the 50's! We have played many different events including: charity fundraisers, art walks, holiday parties, private parties, burlesque shows, brewery shows, concerts, corporate events, and swing dances!
