The main thing is to make sure I am within range of electrical outlets to be able to power sound equipment and lighting. For wedding ceremonies, I have a battery-powered solution.
I prepare for each event differently, customizing playlists/crates based on the desires of the clients, from generous to specific song requests. If it is completely up to me, I like to play hits from the past 3-4 decades and songs that are known to be successful to get people dancing and singing along.
