Sean was absolutely wonderful with helping us plan, and extraordinarily helpful with managing our wedding day! We didn't really have much of an idea of how things would go or what we wanted, but he did a great job with the minimal information we gave him - he seemed to know what we were trying to tell him haha. He and the restaurant manager made everything run so smoothly and we didn't have to worry about a thing! No stress, just fun! He did a great job of incorporating song traditions and kept up a good mix of contemporary and throwbacks. Highly recommend DJ Sean J for any event!
There are not enough good things that I can say about Sean! He was seriously the best DJ for our crowd. When we first met with him you could tell that he takes his job seriously and he wants to make sure that it fits you. We were a little more laid back with a lot of things and just told him that we trust his judgment as far as timing and reading the crowd and boy did he read them right. All of our guests were raving about him and how he was amazing! I have already forwarded his information to multiple people that requested it. I definitely recommend him to anyone no matter what style you are. He went above and beyond and I almost forgot to mention, his personality rocks! Super professional, courteous, easy to talk to, accommodating, understanding, plus he can spin the 1’s and 2’s! I’m so happy Sean was my wedding DJ, especially after we had a bad experience trying to work with another “well known” local DJ.
We put on a daylong virtual event for a women’s group and asked DJSeanJ to keep the women exited and engaged. He exceeded all our standards. From starting early to being prompt with introductory tracks to rocking the lunch hour. We have had one rave review after another for the event and a good deal of the credit has to go to SJSranJ for setting the mood. Keeping people engaged on a Zoom meeting for 8 hours is no easy task but the music made it easy. Can’t thanyDJSeanJ enough for his tremendous work and I highly recommend him to anyone considering an event, live or otherwise that involves music.

Hiring Mixing Maryland and DJ Sean for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made!! We had a very lively group of family and friends that love to spend the entire evening on the dance floor. I am not lying when I say the dance floor was never empty the entire night! He listened to my suggestions and requests while adding his own twist to music selections. Sean was a great DJ for our wedding. He took the time before to ask us what kind of music we wanted throughout the night. He was a great emcee as well. He knew how to transition from one phase of the night into the next and kept things up beat. I would definitely recommend him/MixingMaryland.
From start to finish, Sean was fun, professional, and kept the party going! We enjoyed every moment of our day, from the ceremony to the last song (which I'm not sure how but Sean literally picked the best last song I could've asked for - thank you!). We ended up rearranging a few things on the spot and Sean was great at coordinating those with us and our caterer and it worked out beautifully. While we didn't use it too much, I loved that we had the Vibo app to help with planning to give us some inspiration for part of our ceremony and reception. Sean J was an amazing DJ and we are so happy we hired him for our wedding last week! He was the DJ for my sister's wedding a few years ago, and we knew we had to have him for our wedding. He was very professional and reached out at every stage of the process to make sure we were comfortable and all on the same page. On the day of, he made sure that all of the introductions went smoothly and the music was of course amazing. All of our guests were impressed! He had everybody dancing for 4 hours, nonstop.
Sean was amazing. A total professional. He arrived early and was ready to go. He kept the evening in track and read the crowd perfectly. And he DJ’d with 2 other musicians and. One of them had met before arriving at the venue! The wedding and reception and party just flowed and sean kept us all dancing! I would highly recommend Sean J for any event! He is he best!
Our guests are still talking about the 12th Annual Taste For the First Tee of Howard County, thanks in large part to the performance of DJSeanJ. He was punctual, performed superbly as DJ/Emcee for the event, and his music selection was excellent. The music selected by DJSeanJ set the mood for a festive evening and brought life to an event that had become more than a little dull. All we heard after this year's fundraiser was "great event." I would strongly recommend DJSeanJ for future events and we are already making plans to bring him back next year our Taste event.

Honestly, we did not know how integral a DJ is to a wedding until we saw DJ Sean J in action. He was so accommodating and on point! At every turn he was doing something to make our day go as smoothly as possible. He brought all of his gear and was able to DJ the whole party in multiple rooms! The transitions were seamless!
DJ Sean J got every guest out on the dance floor! He brought us together with his skill and energy. The very last song of the night culminated in us doing a conga line around the venue - there was That much enthusiasm.
Before the event, we were able to tell him exactly what we wanted for the day in terms of music, timeline, announcements, etc. via an online event planner. This interactive website took away a lot of stress because, with so many things to plan for a wedding, we were able to knock a lot of items out in one sitting. We consulted with DJ Sean J the week of the event to make sure everything was set.
I cannot sing his praises any higher - DJ Sean J was friendly, prompt, and professional. His performance and appearance was on point. He included all of the songs we wanted to hear and helped us in choosing other songs that would keep the party going. He even made several impromptu announcements for us throughout the night, when we realized we had forgotten something! And, he did so with ease and professionalism. The whole night went smoothly and we know we owe it to Sean. Without his assistance, it would have been a (very confusing) lukewarm party, at best.
It should come as no surprise that our overall rating of this DJ is 10/10, and we are going to recommend him every chance we get.

- Professional & prompt communication leading up to your event, and on site with all clients, guests & vendors. The success of an event is largely built around having a great team of professionals working together to keep your guests enjoying the party.
- Clean equipment & clutter free setup. Your photographer shouldn't have to edit out messy DJ equipment later.
- Smooth beat matching & transitions, built off of years DJing in nightclubs & casinos. I've cut my teeth in rooms that only skillful nightlife DJs can sustain.
- Professional emceeing, that keeps the event flowing and without any unnecessary "hype-man" antics. The music should do most of the talking, and I take pride in my ability to comfortably talk on the microphone without taking the spotlight.
- No cheesy line dances, games, jokes, or other traditional "schtick" made popular by previous generations of wedding DJs. The only exception to this is when explicitly requested by the client.

Always exploring cutting edge DJ tech to keep his sets engaging and to push the limits of the DJ culture, Sean J has partnered with the D.C. area's nationally respected instructors at the Beat Refinery to share his knowledge of DJing and Music Production with the next generation of performers.
For events where I am to provide all of my essential performance equipment, I will simply need a dressed 6-foot table to place my equipment on, and a standard 15-amp AC grounded power outlet within 30 feet to plug all of my equipment in.
For events where DJ equipment and PA is provided, client is responsible for providing the following items:

Turntables and all connected RCA and ground cables must be in good condition. The height of the turntables must be 38” (plus or minus 1”) from the floor to the top of the platter.

- Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol Z2 Mixer
- Pioneer DJM-900 Nexus Mixer
- Pioneer DJM-900NXS2 Mixer
The Pioneer DJM800 is NOT an acceptable substitute. DJ Sean J uses the mixer’s USB soundcard for Traktor Scratch Pro. Crossfader, faders, and buttons must all be in GOOD condition. Headphone Cue/Master button and fader MUST work. Crossfaders and faders that are sticky, bent, or broken will not be acceptable.
(1) Stage monitor, (1) Power Strip w/ 6 Outlets, and (1) Mic Stand with a Boom. Floor wedges are acceptable stage monitors.
If any of the above items cannot be provided, client must give 1 week notice to DJ Sean J with a detail of the unavailable items.
