Born and raised New Yorker with over two decades spinning music for crowds ranging in capacity from a dozen to over a thousand people. I also have experience with setup and production for large scale events and festivals.
I currently DJ a minimum of 4x a week between a handful of venues in NYC (my weekly/monthly schedules are posted on my instagram page).
We had our wedding at Flowerfield on 6/1 and Swanky was our DJ. Words cannot even begin to describe how much of an amazing job they did! We had a lot of different genres of music we wanted to be played and they honestly killed the request. There were so many people on the dance floor that, instead of trying to get people to dance, they had to tell people to actually sit down to eat dinner. My parents were even on the dance floor and they never dance. If you didn’t know the song currently, the next song you knew and it just made people want to stay on the dance floor. We actually had so many compliments on the music and the DJ. People had a blast which is what we wanted; we wanted everyone to be on the dance floor partying. I know so many people who were unhappy with their wedding DJ because they didn’t listen to what they wanted, but Swanky DJ listened to us and even exceeded expectations! I highly recommend Swanky DJ to anyone!! Fabulous job.
Fell in love with his set when I first heard it 11 years ago. Haven’t heard anyone better.
So, please ignore any and all requests
We had a company party with employees from 21-60 and Gillie kept us dancing and having fun. Will have him again at all our parties.

When someone asks what kind of music do I play the answer is always everything. Naturally, with the amount of experience I have in the industry, my library is deep. My goal is to keep the crowd moving and bar busy!
I will always show up early to account for any unexpected blips. You can also expect seamless transitions between songs and definitely crowd participation.
With over two decades spinning music for crowds ranging in capacity from a dozen to over a thousand people, I've exerted the same passion each gig: making sure the floor is packed and the bar does well. My joy comes from seeing people leaving the venue happier than when they arrived.
Currently, I have a biweekly residency at The Skinny (Lower East Side) on Saturdays as well as 230 Fifth Rooftop (Rooftop brunches and the main room). I also rotate my gigs with other venues including Slate, Ainsworth, Orchard Room, Writing on the Wall, Monarch Rooftop, Ode to Babel, The Woods, amongst others.
I am versatile with my laptop and able to plug and play on any backline- turntables, cd players, or controller. I also have experience with setup and production for large scale events (including GovBall, The Meadows Music and Arts Festival, & Panorama).
I ask for a sturdy table to play on, a grounded outlet, and whatever equipment would be provided for the event. If equipment is needed, I am able to provide that as well for a fee.
