Don Mann is a former law enforcement officer and security specialist with the federal government. His role as a leader in multiple fields led to the launch of his own commercial cleaning business with his wife Angel.
In 2011, Don attempted to take his own life with the service weapon meant to protect life. Many factors contributed to his miraculous survival including the heroic first responders and emergency room team.
His motto of #knownneededloved is rooted in his experience of getting a second chance to be the father his children deserve. He brings encouragement and inspiration through stories of pain that are now his platform.
Don is a standout mentor, coach, and recovery counselor. His perspective and story paired with his passion to help others when life is at it's worst give him the unique ability to speak life into people in a way that brings transformational change.
Don spoke to our Every Mind Matters club at Aurora High School. The students were engaged the entire time and are still talking about the presentation a month later. The biggest takeaways they had were "becoming the best version of you means loving the NOW version of you" and "find your space - don't try to fit a puzzle piece into the wrong spot". I highly recommend having Don come and talk to your group - students, parents, OR staff!

Don is a former police officer, security specialist with the federal government, and emergency preparedness director.
A high school dropout who struggled in many areas of life, he just couldn't catch a break.
Don's past of bullying, rejection, depression, severe cystic acne, and the absence of any social or emotional skills came roaring back with a vengeance.
In just five short years Don went from a decorated officer living the American dream to the lowest place in his life. He was alone, in jail, depressed, hopeless, and homeless.
But he didn't stay there. For the next eight years, he made it his life's mission to discover the meaning in what he endured knowing it could be someone else's life preserver.
Don understands the struggles students endure and the very real and mounting challenge facing parents, educators, and administrators.
Don brings messages that cover bullying and how students can become bully-proof with their truth; the need for intentional focus on social and emotional intelligence; and the value in sending children into this world living from approval and never for approval.
Known, Needed, Loved is his motto. A motto that reveals:
- your intrinsic value
- your intentional design & purpose
- abundant love poured upon you.
