Upbeat Acoustic Americana including bluegrass, swing, blues, folkrock etc. Most songs have a connection to one of Jerry Garcias' many groups (Grateful Dead, New Riders, JGB, Old and in the Way etc...)... and some of our Outdoorsy Originals.

The Donner Party String Band is the next step for the Donneresas... we have been performing around St Louis for a few years...pre Covid as the Roots Brothers, the Whirled Peas and the Early Birds... and as Donneresa out of quarrantine.
We now move forward as the Donner Party String Band blending our pasts into a musical present and future. We are big fans of the acoustic rootsy side of Jerry Garcias many musical projects. (The historical Donner Party was into the dead also ; ) ... We mostly sound like a bluegrass band playing a fun range of americana... Not just for deadheads or bluegrass fans ; ) But if you are up on Jerrys wide catalog, you will have lots of smiles in store as you dont hear this stuff played out often. We are family friendly and love working around kids and pets. We can perform with 2-5 pieces depending on your needs and budget.
Flatt and Scruggs, Jerry Garcia, Bill Monroe, John Hartford...
