Dorothea played a repertoire of classic hymns on the violin while guests arrived at my wedding, and she hands-down set the tone for a magical evening. Though I (as the bride) didn’t get to hear much since I was tucked away before the ceremony start, when I chatted with guests throughout the night, so many of them raved about how absolutely beautiful the violin was. Dorothea was also very professional and easy to work with. I cannot recommend her enough for anyone looking to add some class, magic, and beauty to their next event.

It turned out to be an awesome wedding with a beautiful sunset around 5pm. Dorothy and her husband did an absolutely wonderful music session for our outdoor wedding. We had a garden wedding at the Bernardo Winery, and Dorothy's music set a romantic mood for the entire wedding. She played beautiful violin songs for our ceremony and cocktail hours. We were blown away how artistic she is playing all types of music on her violin. We especially love her Celtic and old english country songs. I hired Dorothy and her husband (who plays recorder) for my small wedding at the Five Crowns in Corona del Mar. The venue is a replica of an English pub, and Dorothy reached out to me asking if I’d like her to play English folk/dance tunes, which are her specialty. Her message stood out from other musician responses because her enthusiasm for her work was so infectious and sparked our curiosity for the genre. She sent us sample playlists of her work on Youtube and I just knew it would set the scene so perfectly. She chose lovely pieces for us with little direction on our part and even played accompaniment for specific ceremony moments on short notice. We had Dorothy and her husband play throughout our reception as well, and afterwards our families & friends agreed that it made the day feel truly special (and were also convinced we’d spent much more on the wedding than we actually did!) Sound was flawless, and moreover Dorothy was a joy to work with! Perfectly communicative with super fast responses, & even traveled to Corona del Mar the night before so they wouldn’t be late for our morning event…Thank you Dorothy & Bert!!

It it with complete joy that we recommend Dorothy and Bert for any of your music needs. They performed traditional Norwegian music at our intimate wedding in Palm Springs on 2/14 and did a beautiful job. They came dressed in traditional Norwegian dress and the music was absolutely perfect. The communication, booking process, and all the details were spot on. Dorothy let us pick the music we liked and gave us several choices. They are a lovely couple with amazing talent! We would HIGHLY recommend them!

Dorothy and her husband were very professional and easy to work with for our small backyard wedding. Dorothy was very easy to communicate with and always provided a timely response while planning for the ceremony music. She also provided audio files for us to practice with during the rehearsal. This was a very nice touch especially for when we were planning the processional. She brought her own sound equipment and did her own set up, which was a great time saver for us since we were so busy right up to the wedding. I highly recommend Dorothy Barth for any special event! We attended a High Tea at Tea Lane in Fallbrook and Dorothy helped created a wonderful experience. Her playing is exquisite, her selection of music was romantic and perfect for the event, and she was very personable. In addition, Dorothy wore an historical Victorian dress that inspired the guests, male and female, to don hats provided by the tea shop!
