We're not just your typical wedding planners who plan a wedding for you, and that's it. We're here to do Kingdom work! And that means not just walking with you through the planning process so you have an amazing wedding, but we continue to walk with you even into your marriage so that you're equipped for a healthy, Christ-centered, fulfilling relationship.
Through the hundreds of weddings that we've done, we've realized that planning a wedding is only one crucial piece to enjoying every moment of your big day! The other two necessary pieces are working through your emotions (because we know wedding planning is bringing up all sorts of feelings for you!) and preparing your marriage (because that's ultimately what this is all about).
1. Preparing Your Wedding
We're all about keeping the planning process as easy, simple, and streamlined as possible! So we break the planning process up into 3 different phases: Planning, Design, and Execution. During the Planning phase, this is when we're focusing on clarifying your wedding vision, creating your budget, and hiring your vendors. The Design phase is when we swoon over color palettes, themes, and florals so that everything looks cohesive and absolutely gorgeous! The Execution phase is all about finalizing those last-minute details, creating the floor plan, confirming details with vendors, and making every part of your day go off without a hitch!
2. Preparing Your Heart
Wedding planning brings up a lot of insecurities, doesn't it? You're feeling the pressure to people please, anxiety from wanting everything to be perfect, insecurity about asking your family and friends for help...or stress because they're offering too MUCH help...All of these emotions seem to come out of the woodworks, don't they? Feelings you might not have realized were even there!
The Lord is using your wedding as an opportunity to gently reveal parts of your heart that haven’t been fully surrendered to Him. And He's bringing these insecurities up at the perfect time! Why? Because you’re about to get married! You’re about to become one flesh with your future husband, and He wants you to address these issues before going into marriage. If you bury them or try to ignore them, they will come back up eventually, but they won’t just be affecting you at that point in time. They're going to affect your future husband MUUUUCH more when you're their wife than when you were their girlfriend or fiancé.
And until you address these insecurities, they're going to keep you from enjoying every moment, both during the planning process and on the wedding day. You could have the most flawless, amazing, magazine-worthy wedding ever, but if you're bogged down by these internal feelings, then you won't be able to enjoy any of it! And it's going to hinder your excitement and preparation going into marriage.
This is why during the planning process, we have one-on-one prayer sessions with you to help work through these emotions, because trying to face your feelings on your own can feel like opening up a huge can of worms. But we work with you in these sessions to help you find freedom from burdens that you aren't meant to carry. Freedom from lies that you've learned to believe over the years. Freedom from those critical, accusatory voices that have burrowed their way deeply into your heart. These sessions help you find freedom in Christ so you can release these fears and insecurities and walk into your wedding day and marriage without this heavy baggage.
3. Preparing Your Marriage
This is the third essential piece to enjoying every moment of your day. You wouldn't even be having a wedding unless you were getting married! This is what it's ultimately about. And as your wedding planners, we not only equip you for a great wedding, but we equip you for a great marriage, as well.
The way we do this is through our Christian premarital counseling program! Tom and Debbie Green lead all our premarital counseling sessions, and they've helped over 100 couples build Christ-centered, fulfilling marriages. By discussing God's heart for marriage, the influence of family and friends, communication, conflict resolution, finances, and sexual intimacy, you and your future husband will have a strong foundation for a healthy, joyful, and long-lasting marriage before the wedding day.
By having our support with these different pieces (your wedding, your heart, and your marriage), you don’t have to navigate the overwhelming logistics, the emotional rollercoaster of wedding planning, or the unknowns of marriage on your own. We're not just here to make sure your venue is perfect on the wedding day, but to ensure that your emotional and spiritual health are, too.

Your wedding day is so important, and we are totally here for it! (That's our main job as wedding planners, after all!) Saying that we're type A is an understatement! Chelsey had her entire wedding planned in a Google Drive folder before she even met her husband, and Danae had a VERY detailed Google Doc for her wedding day itinerary down to the SECOND. No joke! We even have type A brides tell us, "Wow, you're even more type A than ME!" We take that as a huge compliment. ;)

So how did Double Blessing Events start? How did two sisters from Dallas, TX create a wedding planning business that has helped hundreds of couples have their perfect dream weddings?
WELL, HERE’S HOW IT HAPPENED!
When Chelsey and Danae were in college, they loved planning events for their church groups and communities. So when their friends started getting engaged, they asked Chelsey and Danae to help plan their weddings. And of course, both of them were ecstatic! Weddings were their absolute favorite!!
Well, the sisters didn’t realize that this was happening to the other one, too! So one day, when they were chatting on the phone, the topic came up that one of them was helping with a wedding. And then, they realized that this was happening to both of them! Haha, what a coincidence!
Over the years, Chelsey and Danae did so many weddings for their friends and family that they thought, "Man, we really need to start getting paid for this!" In 2017, they got together at their local Starbucks, bought the Double Blessing Events domain name, and created a website. However, both of them were still teaching at that time, so they just sat back and waited for the Lord's instruction!
Fast forward to 2019, when Chelsey felt a tug from God to leave her elementary music job and go all in with Double Blessing Events. After a LOT of prayer, she took the leap, finished out the school year, and started treating DBE as a real business. She registered DBE with the State of Texas, got insurance, formed the LLC, and taught herself all about business and marketing (she was literally clueless about it!).
AND DOUBLE BLESSING EVENTS WAS BORN.
Well, you know how significant names are to the Lord? Chelsey would later find out that God had a DOUBLE meaning in store for Double Blessing Events! The girls originally chose this name because it represented the two of them being a double blessing to their brides (since they were twins), and it also showcased their love for Jesus. How perfect! But the Lord revealed to Chelsey in 2022 that this business was also a double blessing because it was the combination of her wedding planning business AND her ministry! So now, Chelsey uses her ministry to bless her couples, in addition to the wedding planning services they provide.
