- Singing Guitarist
- Travels nationwide
- $400 1st hour, $350 additional hrs
Overview
Doug was raised in a rural mountain area in a family of accomplished professional and amateur musicians. “Our parents were watercolorists, so my siblings and I were fortunate to grow up valuing creativity. We were taught that art, in all its forms, is ‘an interpretation of an emotional experience.’ In this way, music speaks universally to our most human attributes.” In Doug’s original music, one can hear influences from folk balladeers, Hawaiian slack key guitar, cowboy music, and bluegrass. His guitar work reflects his roots in the fingerpicking styles of Colorado and Hawai’i, and also his early years as a drummer.

Response from Doug Fitch Music:
Thank you Nicole! I enjoyed playing for you all at this important meeting. The scientists, military luminaries, and other dignitaries were all very interesting and nice. What an audience! Thank you for staying in touch! Aloha, Doug Fitch
Doug was an absolute rock star! A complete, consummate professional, he took every detail of my request into account. I sent him an original tune of written, and he was able to put a Hawaiian spin on it in about a week! Communicating with him was easy and effective, and as a fellow musician, I’d definitely work with him again.

The Hawaii Bicycling League holds their Annual Members Dinner at the Waikiki Aquarium each year. Doug contacted us during planning this year and expressed his interest in helping out. Not only is he a very talented musician, he was a professional cyclist in the 1980s. This was a excellent on both parts! He preformed for our 300+ guests and could relate with the cycling crowd. I plan to have him at more of our events. I highly recommend Doug!

Doug was spot on for our group.
He responded quickly to my inquiry, made paperwork easy including insurance coverage, and was perfect for our corporate incentive group.
Would use again for sure. Recommend highly.

We’ve seen Doug perform all over the place, and just knew that our guests would appreciate a great mix of live music, from folk to country to Hawaiian slack key. He is the consummate entertainer, and is amazing as both the “main event” and as pleasant background music. His talent and passion shine through in every song.

Thank you Bob! It was a real pleasure to entertain you and your guests. I'm so glad you all enjoyed it. Aloha, Doug Fitch
I recently conducted a wedding ceremony where Doug Fitch was the musician. Right from the prelude, which included several slack key guitar selections, he made quite an impression on the guests. Many were saying: "Wow, that's good," or "That sounds so amazing!" Then Doug sang the processional, and after the vows sang a musical dedication which he had written himself. Both songs were beautiful and heartfelt. There is no doubt that Doug has a special gift and that his musical talents are at the highest artistic level. He added significantly to the emotional warmth of the wedding, and his music was most fitting in our Hawaiian setting.

Doug is an exceptionally talented Hawaiian Slack Key Guitarist. His performances are impactful and he has a wide breadth of styles and variety to suit your preferences. He's a great addition to any event, and it's pretty cool to be able to say you had a Grammy nominated artist perform at your wedding. I highly recommend him and would hire again in a heartbeat.

I had the privilege of having Doug Fitch play at my wedding in June on the island of Oahu. He's a truly talented Hawaiian Slack Key Guitarist, as well as a singer/songwriter who has a wide breadth of styles. Doug is passionate about providing the best quality of service to his clients and at all of his events. He really cared about meeting our requests to make our day as special as possible. He was friendly, professional and above all a terrific addition to the day.
Since then, I've seen Doug perform at another shows (he does all kinds of events, not just weddings, and also performs concerts occasionally) where he was equally if not more so impressive. He has a great stage presence and it's fun hearing his other styles of music (country, rock, etc.).
I highly recommend Doug for anyone in search of a talented guitarist for their event and can say it was one of the best decisions we made when planning our big day. Whether you're having your wedding on the beach, a luxury hotel, or anywhere in between (even off island!) Doug Fitch is worth your consideration.

About
A performing musician since age 8, Doug was raised in a rural mountain area in a family of accomplished professional and amateur folk musicians. “I was brought up on acoustic music and spending time outdoors. In addition to writing my own songs, Hawaiian music speaks to me because it’s an acoustic tradition that reflects its people and their natural surroundings. It paints a beautiful sonic picture that relies on heart and soul for interpretation.
Additional Booking Notes
If you are a client booking me directly as is normally the case, please note that if you have hired an event organizer, that organizer must be notified that I am working under a contract only with you and that I will perform according to your instructions only. Please note that, for weddings on the beach, a special permit from the State of Hawaii is required. Your wedding coordinator can handle all the permitting details. If you are planning your own event, contact the Department of Land and Natural Resources. Because the fines are exorbitant, I will not perform for events that do not have a permit. I require a copy of the permit at least 2 weeks before your event, at the same time the 2nd-half payment is due. Processing time for obtaining permits can vary so please make your request well in advance.
