Presentations and trainings can be customized!
Choose the topics you want covered. I offer presentations and training topics for health care professionals as well as for anyone interested in learning more about Alzheimer's disease/dementia, caregiving, end of life, music therapy, or health literacy. Each topic is available at two levels: beginning or advanced, as well as comprehensive trainings that cover a full topic in depth. Topics can be combined or modified. If you don’t see a topic you want to know more about, suggest it to me and I will design a presentation or training to meet your needs.
Choose the format. Trainings are available as presentations, workshops, discussion groups, small classes, or as a combination of two or more formats. While trainings can be “information only,” I find the best results come from trainings that are interactive and include “hands on” exercises, where participants get to practice and use newly learned skills. Some trainings can also be arranged as webinars or “go to” meetings.
Choose the length of time. For simplicity, I offer presentations and training sessions in lengths of 20, 40, 60, and 80 minutes. Each presentation or training is designed to be adaptable to fit the amount of time you have. If you want to add trainings to staff development meetings, or if you are looking for an educational presentation for your organization, I offer short, compact trainings that last no longer that 20 minutes. For a more in-depth training experience, schedule a session of 80 minutes or longer, or break-up in-depth trainings into several short sessions. You decide how much time you can commit to these training opportunities, and I’ll adapt to fit your schedule.
My name is Doug Seubert and I live in Wisconsin (USA). I am working toward a Masters in public health, with the goal to continue on to obtain a PhD in health sciences. I've worked in health care for 6 years, but since 2010 I have focused on a new area of my career as an independent consultant in health literacy and health communications. My blogs share resources, tools, and information about various public health topics, with a strong emphasis on community health education, effective health communication, and health literacy. I am also the creator of "The End of Life Survival Guide" featuring tips and resources for caregivers of a loved one near the end of life.
Starting in 2010, I had the honor to serve as the full-time, live-in caregiver for my mother, Margaret, who had Alzheimer’s disease with advanced dementia. She passed away December 7, 2014. I feel in my heart that I still have caregiving to do, and I made a promise to my mother that I would honor her memory by continuing to help others, especially the elderly and those with dementia.
