Derrick was born in Suriname (South America), he was a tremendous swimmer from a young age and was sponsored to swim in the junior Olympics. At a young age and always being the small guy, he was a fish in the water. He struggled a lot when he was little being picked on about his last name and even his height. Today although all his struggles he is an outstanding role model and can talk to just about any group about anything. He can impersonate, be a comedian, act and so much more. Derrick was the main spokes person on NBC for NY'S candidate Olympic year, he was also featured in many churches, schools, graduations (including his own) and community centers. He was apart of the Law enforcement explorers were he completed lots of community service as well as speaking to youth. Derrick had his musical talent for a long time, he was always writing during high school, he was featured on a school album back in NY with his fellow class mates in effort to take a stand against bullying. He has done so much more but, in all his efforts to teach and reach Derrick has received many awards, from the governor of NJ, Mayor of NY, a City Council citation, Outstanding citizenship, almost 100+ swimming medals and sport trophies and so much more. Derrick is one of the youngest speakers out at 21 years of age with a degree in Emergency Medical services and is working on his masters in communications and public safety, who couldn’t be a better role model of success for adults and even youth?. Derrick also served in the U.S Army which also exemplification’s his courage, trust, bravery, loyalty and most of all his kind heart.

I can make do with whatever you have, from a basement to a church you name it. When people are blown away by the act or the performer it doesn't matter how fancy it looks or what kind of disco lights are flashing.
