You can describe Rickey Gene Wright & Duck Creek Station's music as Americana blending Roots, Texas Country, Folk, Bluegrass, and Acoustic Blues. Truly an acoustic crossover music genre that would please any crowd. They are known for their songwriting, tight harmony singing, professional acoustic instrument and keyboard styles, audience communication and for singing the songs of their fellow Texas singer-songwriters like Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, and Lyle Lovett. Their signature sound is an acoustic guitar, mandolin, harmonica and accordion with that tightly woven harmony sung by Rickey Gene Wright and Denise Owen who have been singing together for 20 years. They also have a very unique sound when their lead mandolin player plays his mandocello and their acoustic guitar player plays his mandolin. They will also mix in a six-string banjo, a metal resonator guitar, some alternate keyboard styles of a cello and a pan flute. You will hear the Foley mandolin family of instruments made by their own lead mandolin player and instrument luthier Martin Delabano. In the fall of 2014, Richie Owen joined the band and is playing his great grandfathers upright bass. That lucky singer-songwriter who gets to sing his original songs in this band is Rickey Gene Wright. He is a registered BMI songwriter and composer and he is signed with the record label Louisiana Hayride Records.
We bring our own equipment and sound systems.
