Duke Out of the Blue

We offer exciting performance opportunities! An Out of the Blue performance would be a unique event that would draw Duke students and provide an exciting atmosphere for your shoppers. We sing a wide range of songs - from contemporary pop to alternative to old-school classics and even original compositions! Our vast repertoire would allow us to tailor our setlist to your specific events, audience, and needs. We are very flexible in terms of timing and pricing. Our typical performance options are: three songs, a half-hour, or a full hour - but we are more than happy to work out anything else in between.

Out of the Blue is Duke’s oldest all-female undergraduate a cappella group. We frequently perform at a variety of venues in the Triangle area including universities, restaurants, museums, private parties, Cameron Indoor Stadium, the Durham Bulls Stadium, and DPAC. In recent years, OOTB has traveled across the country to DC, Chicago, and New York as well as internationally to Istanbul, Turkey, where we performed live on Turkish national television.

OOTB records and produces a CD every two years. Our most recent album, Runway, was just released on iTunes. We were awarded “Best Female Collegiate Album” for the third year running with our 2011 album, Still Point. Tracks from our albums are also featured on national compilations, such as the “Best of College A Cappella” (BOCA) series and “Voices Only.”

In addition to recording, OOTB competes in live events such as the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) and SoJam.
