Dutch Holly is a travelling guy/girl singer/songwriter duo whose sound is unique, danceable, and captivating. Their original music relies on tight vocal harmonies over a bed of live-created loops and samples, creating a mesmerizing groove and captivating audiences all over the Southwest. Dutch Holly’s smart, quirky songwriting employs equal parts modern folk-tronica and retro psychedelia under lush harmonies. Their live show is mesmerizing and energetic as they live-loop multiple instruments and vocals to produce huge psychedelic soundscapes and danceable grooves. It’s no wonder that they garner friends and fans everywhere they play.
Jen and Tres are the inseparable dynamic duo of Dutch Holly. Both found their way to Phoenix, AZ and met one night by sheer coincidence or fate depending on who you ask. Jen’s band, Perspehone’s Picnic, was opening for Tres’ band, Dalmatian Car, in a bar that was open for one night only – that night – and then closed. When Jen finished her set, she pondered aloud from the stage, “Who’s gonna buy me a beer?” “That’d be me” replied Tres. She hasn’t bought a beer since.
Dutch Holly travels with their own monitoring system, but can use a house system as well. If the venue has it's own sound system and no sound engineer, Dutch Holly can easily do their own sound. In the case of a house sound-engineer, Dutch Holly will likely use a 4-input setup consisting of 2 direct mono inputs, and 2 microphones, with a single monitor mix.
Typically we play 2 to 3 hours of original music, with the occasional cover song.
