Eddie is the best! Love his music and his presence. Our congregation loves, loves loves him!
Eddie Watkins came to our Unity church in September, both as guest musician and guest speaker. I was a long time huge fan of Eddie's music, and it was every bit as powerful and moving as I expected it to be, both for his Sunday morning church music and his concert later. Our entire church was on cloud nine! The part that was a bit of a surprise is that I found his talk to be every bit as moving as his music. (And believe me, his music will move you!) Eddie spoke with wisdom and clarity, directly from his heart and his life experiences. All who experienced him were profoundly touched. We are so grateful to have had him with us, and would welcome him back at ANY time.
Response from Eddie Watkins Jr:
We enjoyed your community so much.. There were several 'profound' moments that day.!. Thank you and we would love to come back soon!!

Eddie Watkins Jr., can play solo or with Band. Fired up funky Motown beats with a positive message, soulful, funky, ballads, covers and originals. He can play tracks behind him as a solo act, or at the piano, with bass in hand...
As as band leader, he gives into his Rhythm & Blues roots of Motown.
As a session player Eddie was know as the "Red Light Man" meaning when the red recording light was on, he was On! Professional, inspired, and on task at all times!!
Eddie Watkins Jr., born in Detroit Michigan (the birthplace of the Motown sound) was given a piano at age 7 by his grandmother who recognized his musical talent. This rambunctious seven-year-old turned out to be a gifted musician and composer, playing piano, bass, guitar, drums and saxophone throughout junior high and high school. However, Eddie's true love was the bass guitar, by age 17 Eddie continued his dream, playing bass for Motown's Norman Whitfield supporting artists like the Temptations, The Undisputed Truth, and many other Motown greats.
When Motown moved to Los Angeles, Eddie left Detroit behind, moved to Hollywood and made a name for himself as a premier "A list" session bass player.
Eddie has lent his rock solid bass licks to recordings by Quincy Jones, Barbra Streisand, Herbie Hancock, Santana, Patti LaBelle, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, the Pointer Sisters, James Brown and a who's who of popular music icons.
Success and the fast life led Eddie to substance abuse, recovery and a spiritual search for deeper meaning of his life. This search led to a spiritual awakening and a call to serve humanity through his music. Eddie has served as musical director at the Center for Spiritual Living greater Las Vegas and the Center for Spiritual Living Seattle.
Today with 6 CDs of original life-altering high consciousness music under his belt, Eddie is on tour across America raising the vibration of the planet with his music.
Eddie is also writing a book, Motown & Miracles, and is the keynote speaker at many of the Centers he visits.
Eddie has recorded with:
Marvin Gaye, Quincy Jones, James Brown, Santana, Cher, Diana Ross, Herbie Hancock, Pattie Labelle, The Pointer Sisters, Peter Frampton, Gato Barbieri,
The Temptations, Phyllis Hyman, Norman Conners, Thelma Houston,
Nancy Wilson, and the list goes on and on.
