El Otro Grupo is an alternative rock band from Santa Marta, in the Colombian Caribbean. Self-assigned to the “Noise Pop” genre and with 4 years active, they have participated in many of the most important national music events such as: Festival Centro 2014, Festival Hermoso Ruido 2014, Resonancia 3.0 2015 - Showcases, Festival Estéreo Picnic 2016, Concierto Radiónica 2016, Bogotá Music Market BOmm 2016 – Showcases, Winners in the Miche Rock Festival 2015 in the “rock” category, among others.
Likewise, they have represented Colombia at international festivals like SXSW Music Festival 2016, Austin, Texas. Estados Unidos - Festival Chacha Rock, Chachapoyas, Perú; and also several international cultural and music markets such as: Circulart, Medellín Colombia 2013, 2014 y 2015 - Bogotá Music Market, Bogotá Colombia 2014, 2015 y 2016 - Hermoso Ruido Meetings 2014 - Mercado Cultural del Caribe, Cartagena Colombia 2014 y 2016 - Mecato, Ibagué Colombia 2014 - MicSur, Mar de Plata, Argentina 2014 - Conecta, Cusco, Perú 2015 y Womex, Santiago de Compostela, España 2014 y 2016. Besides, the band’s music is often part of the playlists of some important radio stations in Colombia such as Radiónica, and international ones such as KEXP Seattle, USA. Nowadays, they are focused on taking their music beyond the Caribbean boundaries where it is produced.
