Formed in Austin in 2003, El Tule creates a dynamic and celebratory concoction of Latin rhythms. Named after the Tree of Tule located in Oaxaca, Mexico, the band fittingly describes their music as being about history, art, and culture, focusing on legends and tales of the mystical. Through a captivating and highlighted horn section, stirring electric guitars, and a dance-inducing rhythm section, El Tule brings the sounds of cumbia, merengue, salsa, and reggae together with an occasional touch of rock, funk and psychedelia.
The group transcends all cultural backgrounds.
