Hello, My name is Eric Zimmermann. I am a Pianist, Band Leader, DJ/Master of Ceremonies & Host of Wedding and Event Podcast.
I regularly perform at: The Valley Hunt Club, California Club, Langham Hotel, Fairmont Miramar Hotel, Athenaeum, Annandale Golf Club, Four Seasons Beverly Hills, Beverly Hills Hotel since 1990.
Talking about music and getting requests helps me to understand the client's vision.
As an event progresses through the evening the atmosphere and style of music also change creating new excitement. Planning music for an event is just as much fun as performing :-)

Eric was a warm and classy master of ceremonies for our intercultural wedding (Indian and Ecuadorian). We loved that he was appropriate for all ages and seemed to genuinely enjoy our festivities. It was a seamless evening in large part due to his deft management of the reception schedule. He was absolutely accommodating when it came to our music selections, provided great sound, and he was also very helpful in regards to sketching out the reception timeline. Whenever I had a question during the planning stages he was quick to respond and lend his expertise. I would highly recommend Eric as your master of ceremonies if you’re looking for a touch of class.

Eric ushered in the New Year’s for us and we cannot recommend him enough! He played everything from classical Christmas to Sound of Music to Bon Jovi! It was such a memorable evening. He had the whole room singing and the kids dancing!

There are some musicians who play beautifully, others that can read a crowd and know just what to play in order to fill the dance floor. Still, others are supportive of their fellow musicians and make changes in keys and arrangements to create the best sound possible. ANSWER: An entertaining well-groomed professional who is helpful and interested in the success of the event.

ANSWER: The client has a vision for their event. It is a lot of fun to help plan music and create the the right atmosphere; it's an artistic collaboration; it's time well spent :-) After I understand the client's vision and scope of the event the client would receive a written summary our discussions defining the services requested. Through this interaction the client would get to know me, understand my services and have certainty that I am the right guy for the job.
PERFORMANCE/SERVICES: Eric Zimmermann has provided Live Music - DJ Dance Music - Professional Announcing for weddings and events throughout Southern California since 1990. This is a very creative activity; each event is unique. In my years of experience I have learned to understand the client's vision and help them achieve their vision.
THE EVENT PLANNERS' POINT OF VIEW; WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR?...
Event planning is a big job even for event professionals. When researching vendors experienced planners will look for "a good fit" for their client. To help with budgeting I provide prices up front. I do understand how planning the event is a learning process and develops over time; things can change. The better I understand what's needed (and level of service) needed for the event the more accurate my quote will be. An event planner will assemble the services beautifully and set the stage so that something amazing can happen. Then comes coordination...
RE: "WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR?"
ANSWER: I think like anyone, event planners want "peace of mind". I have over 25 years of experience in providing music for events in some of the most beautiful locations throughout Southern California. Party planning, or wedding planning can be quite challenging for anyone new to planning a large event. A lot of stress and uncertainty is created from just lack of experience. Planning includes learning. By simply consulting with an industry professional and working out a basic itinerary sketch one gains certainty and planning becomes less stressful. Working out an itinerary sketch is a free service I offer. It is fun to do and is much needed. Once done, discussing music is a creative adventure. I look forward to hearing your ideas.
