I'm Elizabeth, and I'm so looking forward to working with you! I have a BA in music, vocal performance from Loyola Marymount University and have been performing as a singer for 15+ years. What I believe sets me apart from other vocalists is my dedication to professionalism and my ability to take direction and work well as a member of an event or team. My background includes opera, musical theater, jazz standards, praise and worship music, choral music, pop and rock. I am a quick learner, and am the most at-home on stage in front of a crowd. Let's get started!
Elizabeth was just wonderful singing at my husband's 70th birthday party. She sang with a clear, pitch-perfect voice and added so much life and energy. It was a rather quiet crowd to sing for, but she handled it beautifully and so professionally. She is able to adapt herself very well to any situation...even a room that was quite crowded, she managed to navigate well. Many thanks for all the joy she added, she is just delightful!
Professional, talented, warm and inviting. These barely begin to describe Ms. Matson. She has a gorgeous voice, excellent musician-ship. Easy to communicate with. On-time, always professional. Multi-talented with ability to play guitar, keyboards, ukulele, and MORE. Vocals are on-point, every note perfect. She played a beautiful set at my wedding and made it come alive. Would definitely recommend!!! You will not regret.

From classy jazz to rock and roll, belting out the high notes or singing sweet, quiet melodies I am vocal chameleon who can provide exactly what your event requires no matter the genre. I love to perform and know how to captivate an audience, but I also know how to blend in as a pleasant voice providing background music. Music is a part of who I am, and I love putting my heart and soul into the music I'm singing whether it be a classical aria or a classic rock cover.
My singable range is an E below middle C to an A two octaves above middle C. I have sung classical pieces in English, Spanish, Italian, German and French.
After performances sometimes people tell me who they think I sound like. People I've been told I sound like include Karen Carpenter of the Carpenters, Lana Del Rey, Amy Lee from Evanescence, Pat Benatar, and Linda Ronstadt.
When I was five years old I participated in a group class that my piano teacher was giving. Ten of her youngest students sat on the carpet in front of her piano while she had us play fun games involving ear-training and note recognition. She played a little melody and would ask each of us to sing it back to her individually. When it came to be my turn, I sang back the melody to her note for note. When I was finished, my teacher looked at me and said, "Elizabeth, you have a voice of an angel." This is the first time I remember being recognized as a singer. It seemed funny to me because all I was doing was repeating the notes she had played. I wondered why the other kids in the class seemed to be having so much trouble with a task that to me felt natural.
Music is my first language and my first love. I was dancing around to the Winnie the Pooh theme song in front of the TV before I could talk, and learning to read sheet music at the same time I was just learning how to write the letters of the alphabet. When I am able to share my love of music and singing with others it brings me a great feeling of fulfillment. This isn't just because I get to hear the audience applaud and feel good about something I did, but because through singing I was able to give the audience a moment where they can somehow feel more connected. Maybe whatever I was singing struck a chord in their heart. Maybe that song I sang helped them feel more deeply, or let loose a little bit more easily at a party, or remember a precious moment they once had when that song was playing.
My goal as a singer isn't about me. It's not about receiving the recognition I need to feel good about myself. It's about being true to whatever music I'm performing, no matter how overplayed or avant-garde it may be. As a singer, I am the interpreter between the music and the listener. If the listener feels connected to the message of the song, or more connected to their own feelings, then I feel like I have done the music justice.
