Hi! My name is Emma Busse, and I am a Performer based in NYC. I have been singing, dancing, and acting since I was six years old! The audience can expect solo performances filled with energy, personality, and most importantly heart and passion. I honestly love the work I do, so every song I sing is always at the highest level that I can get it at. Depending on what the client is looking for, I have a large spectrum of styles that I can sing in, including: Pop, Rock, Classical, Christian, R&B, Country, Musical Theatre, and Jazz. I will adapt to whatever request is needed vocally!
Determined, passionate, and versatile,
is how one could best describe Emma Busse. Her most notable roles include: Belle and the Wardrobe in Beauty and The Beast written by Linda Woolverton, Oz and Axel Rose in We Will Rock You written by Ben Elton, and Teen Fiona in Shrek: The Musical written by David-Lindsay Abaire (all productions were done at Notre Dame Regional Secondary School).
Emma has been performing for more than twelve years, and through this time she has garnered a significant amount of training and experience. She has graduated with a diploma in Musical Theater at the American Music and Dramatic Academy (graduated in May of 2022). Before her enrollment into AMDA, Emma worked on many Musical productions and sang in various concert performances through her time at Notre Dame Secondary. She has also taken classes under Peter Jorgensen, and has worked with award-winning choreographer Julie Tomaino.
Her most recent work includes being a part of two graduation showcases at her alma matter (AMDA) where she performed in one a classic country ballad called “Blue” by Leann Rimes, and acted in another a scene from the play “BFF” by Anna Ziegler. She has also been involved in Arts Club Theater Company’s showcase for young performers, and playing the role of Amelie as a musical theater solo for a Synergy Dance Competition, where she won the Judge’s Choice Award.
Ever since she was eight years old and saw Wicked for the first time in her hometown, Emma knew that there was something very special about musical theater, and that she just needed to be a part of it. From that moment on, she started to sing, dance, and act her way through life and never looked back. Of course she has other passions: like sewing, and playing the occasional badminton match, but nothing else came close to her love for the arts.
I am very flexible when it comes to what is wanted lighting/staging wise (depending on what the client wants), the only requirement I would need in regards to my performance, would be of course the sound equipment, (i.e. microphone, speakers attached to said microphone, etc.).
Of course, I will adapt to what is wanted from the Client, but I'll give an example as to what could be in my set lists.
For a wedding reception the list could be:
~ "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons
~ "Crazy In Love" by Beyonce
~ "Hung Up" by Madonna
~ "Get the Party Started" by P!nk
~ "Last Friday Night" by Katy Perry
~ "Latch (Acoustic)" by Sam Smith
~ "Somethin' Stupid" by Frank Sinatra
~ "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain
~ "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston
~ "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran
Throughout the years, I have garnered many influences that have shaped me into the performer I am today. I feel as though because I have so many inspiring performing figures in my life, my singing has become very versatile, and doesn't really fit in one style. For example, for when I need inspiration in my Musical Theatre endeavors, I look to: Bernadette Peters, Patti LuPone, Ramin Karimloo, and Audra McDonald. Then when it comes to more contemporary singing like Jazz, or Pop, I listen to singers like: Sade, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Ocean, and James Blake.
Stage/Setup Requirements include: wired microphone that connects to an amp speaker (or two, doesn't matter) and a music stand (for the ceremony).
