Hi there, my name is Erik Tait. I'm a comedy magician with over a decade of experience performing for more than a million people. From The Comedy Barn in Pigeon Forge TN to the world famous Magic Castle in Los Angeles, I have brought my unique blend of award winning comedy and magic to all kinds of audiences.

I blend high end sleight of hand with a razor sharp wit to create a unique entertainment experience. I tailor each show to the event I am contracted for. I am adept at mingling with cocktail parties and weaving miracles into conversation, as well as sitting down at a small table and giving a formal close up magic show featuring original magic.
At the request of the client I am also equipped to give crooked gambling demonstrations. This includes an expose of the methods used by card cheats in poker, black jack, and other games using false dealing and shuffle work rarely seen by a lay audience.
Erik Tait hails from Wausau Wisconsin, which he doesn’t remember because he left it when he was very young. A top graduate of the Comedy Writing and Performance Program at Humber College in Toronto, Erik is currently the only magician in the world with a college degree in hilarious and can academically prove he is hysterical.
Erik has performed at a number of comedy and variety festivals including The Los Angeles Comedy Festival, The Arch City Comedy Festival, The Atlanta Jugglers Festival and The Ohio Burlesque Festival. In 2015 he won the title of Master of Comedy at the Burlypicks International Burlesque and Variety Arts Competition.
He has been seen on stages such as Second City Toronto, The Magic Castle, and made an appearance on XM Radio’s Chompin’ at The Bit as well as a bunch of Podcasts who’s names escapes him at the moment. Currently Erik is based in Columbus Ohio where he is learning to accept the kindness of others. When not performing in various comedy clubs and corporate venues he is a photographer and tortoise enthusiast.
When a stage show is requested I am qualified to help with the technical requirements of lights and sound. I can provide my own PA equipment should that be required.
Formal closeup shows require a table for me to sit at.
My current act is influenced by a combination of close up magicians such as Simon Lovell, Lennart Green, Richard Turner, and Arturo Ascanio. My comedy is reminiscent of Patton Oswalt, Eddie Izzard, and Dylan Moran with a dash of Douglas Adams.
