Erik Yates / Hot Buttered Rum / Gin & Boots

We host an annual fall festival party at a farm — kid friendly afternoon/evening of activities like apple picking, hay rides and the like. We usually have traditional bluegrass band but our regular folks couldn’t make it this year and so glad we found Gin & Boots. Particularly once the sun went down and they had lights on, this very talented trio had the whole party captivated, from the kids to the grandparents. Everyone was so into it, and it very much made the party. And Erik was easy to work with, very responsive and knew how to engage the crowd. Will be inviting th back!! Highly recommended.

Erik was easy to work with and brought some classic & contemporary songs with a folksy Americana vibe. Great sound, but not quite as fitting for our restaurant and crowd as I had hoped. Banjo isn't as warmly welcomed in a Spanish style spot. I think he's awesome for outdoor festivals, breweries, pubs, etc.

Gin and Boots was awesome. They brought a super good energy and vibe. Also, Erik is a great communicator and easy to work with. So much fun!!!

Wow Gin & Boots are exceptional! My guests loved them at my Party. Great mix of Classic Country, Bluegrass, & westernizing rock classics, as requested! The musicianship was top notch & enjoyed by many of my musician guests. Gin & Boots made the party! They have a great sound, and were entertaining & easy to deal with. I plan on hiring them again, they were that good!

These musucians are so authentic and created an experience of pure joy. They had great vocal harmonies, super organized, took playlist requests & showed up on time. Thank you for such a spectacular event

Really happy with our decision to book Hot Buttered Rum for our Club Member Event. Erik was so responsive to my original inquiry (which was much appreciated as I was planning with not much notice) professional and accommodating to our needs. He and Nat were wonderful and planned a great set list, we have heard all positive feed back from our club members and look forward to booking them again in the future!

Hot Buttered Rum was a big hit from start to finish! Each member played to perfection, banjo, Bass, fiddle, guitar.... vocals were great, and their harmonies were even better! We had 55 people at our party, and all I heard last night was, "Where did you find these guys?" " Wow! They sound so good! " The band truly made our party memorable! I had multiple guests who were musicians , and they felt I had booked a quality Band!
I requested the band play a song that was long and intricate, they learned it and played it!

Erik and the Hot Buttered trio were just what our event needed! Such great bluegrass music, talented musicians, very professional, and so nice and easy to work with. The trio set the tone for a very fun camping event with 100+ guests and had everyone grooving to the songs of bluegrass and some other great rock covers in that country bluegrass style. I cannot say enough good things about these guys. We will definitely request them again for more events. Thanks again!

Erik and Sarah made my wife's birthday even more memorable by playing a great set and learning some of her favorite songs. Our guests were blown away by how good the music was and everyone had a special evening. Erik is such a talented multi-string player and their vocals were on point! Leading up to the event, Erik was super easy to work with and communicate with, and he tailored the event to match our needs and budget. They even stayed and played for extra time because everyone was having so much fun. I will definitely reach out to Erik any time I'm looking for live music!

One of the best musicians you'll ever hear with exceptional skills. Erik Yates played the guitar, the Banjo, and the Dobro with amazing skills and style. His music is cheerful and makes you move your body uncontrollably. He is witty, wicked, and an amazing musician. Erik Yates is a rock star. Thank you Erik for an amazingly memorable evening. Wow!!

Erik played acoustic guitar at our daughter’s wedding rehearsal dinner. Everyone enjoyed the music and he was pleasant to work with.

We hired Erik for an outdoor anniversary party - basically a small wedding. Erik knocked it out of the park! He played all our requested songs beautifully and really wowed the audience with his excellent guitar playing and singing voice. Aside from the music, it was also effortless to communicate with him from the get-go - he was very responsive.

Erik played banjo for our all staff meeting and was absolutely marvelous! Such a talented musician and down to earth guy. Erik's vibe and personality fit perfectly with our retail store event and customers. The timing and set ran smoothly, he knew how to work the crowd and the energy and we got nothing but compliments from customers during his set. Easy to work with, great communicator and all around great guy. Will be keeping him in mind for future events!

We hired Erik to play a pop-up banjo concert as a treat for our patrons and staff at the public library and were thrilled with how it went! He was a great performer and took the time to explain a little bit about the banjo and the history of some of the songs. I would definitely recommend him and/or hire him again!
