Kessa and I are a duo. We perform classical music and standards at a professional level portraying excellent and beauty. Kessa's has experience performing Ravel art songs in Carnegie Hall and it exemplifies her expertise and gorgeous playing on the piano. Matthew's Degree from McGill University in Montreal has allowed his talent to flourish in to a dramatic tenor voice. He not only sings European art songs but is an opera singer with an amazingly huge voice that is not only powerful but also soothes the heart of listeners. Since we mainly do classical music we would need only a piano. If there is no piano provided we can bring out own but would need access to an outlet.

Kessa Mefford,
Kessa Mefford is an award-winning pianist specializing in the music of Maurice Ravel. Kessa gave her Carnegie Hall debut in December 2022 with a historic program; “Ravel: All of It,” the complete art songs of Ravel with soprano Kristina Cook. Kessa has started two concert series: “Whimsical Birdsong,” based out of New York in which she performs and collaborates with others in presenting the complete works of Ravel that include piano, and "Piano at Noon", based in her hometown of Peekskill as an effort to bring more classical music to the community. In 2023, Kessa gave her radio debut with Cook performing Ravel on New York’s WQXR in a special episode of Young Artist Showcase featuring pianist/singer duos.
At the end of 2019, Kessa released her debut album with Whole Note Publishing featuring the live performance of the Beethoven concerto as well as other works performed live in 2016 by Scriabin, Bach, Menotti, and Scarlatti. Her second album, “Ravel: All of It” was released in 2022 with Kristina Cook. She is currently working on three more albums: "Two Piano Concertos," featuring the concertos by Montez and Ravel alongside the Ravel Violin Sonata No. 2 Couperin's Les Folies Françaises, a solo piano program; “Gaspard de la nuit,” featuring works by Ravel, Bach, Andres, and Montez, and “Masters of Impression,” an album of solo piano, chamber music, and art song by Ravel, Montez, and Faure.
Matthew Marano, tenor, has been singing with Taconic Opera since 2020. He most recently appeared as Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos. Before that he has appeared Taconic Operas productions of Manon by Massenet, Manon Lescaut by Puccini, and La Traviata by Verdi. He has also appeared with the New York Opera Conservatory in the lead roles of Norma, Lucia di Lammermoor, Pearl Fishers, Don Giovanni, La Traviata, Il Tabarro, Tosca, and Elixer of Love.
Matthew Marano,
Matthew graduted from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. There he appeared in Kurt Weil's Street Scene, Verdi's La Traviata, and Mozart's Clemenza di tito.
Mr. Marano will be appearing in the Tenor solos of Mozarts Requiem in March of 2024 at the Holy name of Mary Church in Croton and in the role of Don José in Carmen at Tarrytown music hall in November of 2024. He will also appear in the lead roles of Don Pascuale by Donizetti and Verdi's Il Trovatore with the New York Opera Conservatory in the summer of 2024.
