Hello, my name is Emma. I’m excited to join the gig salad community!
I am a classically trained violinist who has been performing for 18 years. I have a Bachelor's in violin performance from the Eastman School of Music (ranked No.3 conservatory in America) and am currently finishing my Master's at the University of North Texas. At UNT, I hold a position in the Bancroft Graduate String Quartet, a paid position offered to the strongest applicant. I love to play at weddings and other events in the DFW area and I am happy to play solo or provide a string duo, trio, or quartet to meet your needs!

Price Range: $200-$725 per hour
Gig Length: 30 - 240 minutes
I offer a variety of services in classical music which are suited to weddings, cocktail hours, studio recordings, elegant parties, and other live performances. I can play solo, or provide a string duo, trio, or quartet. I can play any style, from classical to pop songs and I have my own collection of music that can be tailored to any event. I also take musical requests.
Timeliness and professionalism are very important to me. I respond quickly and arrive to events on time. My setup/breakdown time is very minimal, the only equipment I would ever require from a venue are chairs for myself or my ensemble.
My dress code is generally concert black, but I am happy to work with the event planner to make sure that myself or my group will fit the aesthetic of the event.
I am committed to making sure that my services will create just the mood that you are looking for. You can expect a professional experience all the way through. Looking forward to working together!
Emma Milian graduated from the Eastman School of Music in May 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance, a certificate in Arts Leadership, and a certificate in Performance Practice. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Ms. Milian now studies with Julia Bushkova at the University of North Texas College of Music and holds a position in the Bancroft String Quartet.
Ms. Milian is a violinist with a wide variety of musical interests. While at the Eastman School, she performed as concertmaster in the Eastman Bach Cantata series, Eastman Symphony Orchestra, and Eastman Philharmonia.
While in New York, Ms. Milian also served as the concertmaster for the Empire Film and Media Ensemble from (phone number hidden)3. She also recently recorded the score (composed by Mark Watters) to WXXI’s upcoming documentary on Eastman. In addition to her work in Rochester, Ms. Milian has performed in many venues across New York City, including Carnegie Hall, the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Symphony Space, and the National Arts Club.
Ms. Milian currently plays in the Texarkana Symphony, Las Colinas Symphony, Abilene Philharmonic, Dallas Bach Society, UNT Symphony Orchestra and the UNT Baroque Orchestra. In the last year she has performed at concert venues throughout North Texas including the Irving Arts Center, Granville Arts Center, Arlington Music Hall, Zion Lutheran Church, Abilene Convention Center, Perot Theater and Meyerson Symphony Center. She enjoys playing for weddings, cocktails, corporate events, private parties, and other events in the DFW area. Some recent wedding venues she has played at include Room on Main (Dallas), The Milestone Mansion (Aubrey), Lonestar Lodge and Marina (Pilot Point), and The Olana (Hickory Creek).
I am very flexible with lighting/staging/sound, however please note that I can only accept outdoor gigs if there is a plan in place to move inside in the case of extreme weather. Due to the quality of my instrument, I cannot play outside in the rain (even intermittent or light drizzle) or in extreme heat.
If the venue will be dark, please let me know in advance so that I can arrange to bring a stand light.
