Ezra Vancil is an American singer/songwriter based in Dallas, Texas. While in the past he has written and recorded in the rock, pop, and experimental genres, a more mature Vancil has now found a sense of permanent belonging and connection within the community of Americana artists. His life experiences shared in song can be serious and contemplative - touching on themes of addiction, depression, and divorce - but Vancil chronicles his escape from darkness with expressions of hope and love of life that are both inspiring and healing.

Vancil now performs with another Vancil, his daughter Cozi. Performing original songs from their band, Cozi and Flounder. Most shows are split up, with Ezra taking the first hour and Cozi coming on stage to finish the night with the lovely cowritten duets.
More about Cozi and FLounder:
“Cozi anda Flounder” is a father-daughter duo hailing from the DFW metroplex. Surrounded by
a talented band of old friends, but standing alone in a genre self-defined as cosmic country,
Ezra and Cozi Vancil draw inspiration from artists of generations past—think Bob Dylan, John
Denver, Joni Mitchell, and Joan Baez—in order to create a truly unique, soulful, Americana-esk
sound.
The Vancils, along with veteran drummer/producer Aaron Thomas, have received international
praise for the immersive lyrics, juxtaposing vocals, and impassioned instrumentals present on
“Cozi anda Flounder’s” five-song, debut studio project, “The Place.”
With the combination of Ezra’s experience and Cozi’s youthful bliss, this innovative duo has
entranced audiences across Kansas, Texas, and Florida, and with multiple upcoming shows
and a sophomore studio project set to release this fall, the spotlight of success continues to
shine bright on this special, southern pair.
