Face Paint, Temp Tats, and Balloons by Sue

When the FACEPAINTING BY SUE, LLC artist(s) arrive at your event they will set up the work area. This may include a tent (if venue is outside) and from 1 to 3 "stations" for Face Painting, Temporary Tattoos, and/or Balloon Twisting depending on your service request.

Our standard procedure when supplying more than one service is to make sure each interested guest receives a face paint, a temporary tattoo, or a balloon. When everyone has been served, we will do "seconds" as time permits.

FACEPAINTING BY SUE, LLC uses ONLY professional cosmetic grade face paint, ink, glue, and glitter in order to provide a safe experience for everyone. Although allergic reactions can still occur, using professional products greatly reduces the chances and we encourage a "patch test" in advance of painting or tattoos for anyone with sensitive skin. We will not assume liability for allergic reactions.

FACE PAINT designs include full faces, 1/2 faces, masks, cheek art (which can be painted on arms, hands, or legs as well as on the cheek or forehead). We can paint 6-10 designs per hour per artist, depending on the complexity of the design. Face paintings include optional bling and glitter.
*NOTE: For safety reasons, WE WILL NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, paint the face of anyone
1) under the age of 3. We will be happy to paint a design on a hand or arm for the wee ones.
2) who says "No".
3) who (in the judgement of the artist) is sick, has a rash, or other open wound.

TEMPORARY TATTOOS are waterproof, dermatologist tested, and last up to 7 days.
GLITTER TATTOOS are created with single use stencils; Latex-free, Hypoallergenic, and Dermatologist Tested body glue; and cosmetic grade glitters. We have a wide variety of designs available including "Frozen", princess, animals, superheroes, minions, and many more! Hi Def stencils (see below) can also be used to create AWESOME glitter tattoos.

MATTE TATTOOS are a gel tattoo ink that, when used with Hi Def Contour stencils, creates real-looking, highly detailed tattoos on the skin - so amazingly intricate that the temporary tattoos will make heads turn and jaws drop saying “is that REAL??” Great for teen and adult parties!! Available only in black at this time. Hi Def stencils can be used to create great glitter tattoos, too!

METALLIC TATTOOS are the most on-trend, flashy form of body art. Seen on fashion runways, magazine covers and worn by all the Hollywood starlets. These flashy metallic jewelry tattoos can be mixed and matched to create amazing accessories on the skin in the form of temporary body art - perfect for bridal parties and sweet sixteens. We've found that Moms of kid's party guests love these elegant designs.

BALLOON TWISTING a.k.a "Latex Expansion Engineering" or "Air Bending", is the art of making figures or sculptures out of balloons.
Be advised: balloons are made of latex – do not book this service if someone is allergic!!!

CHOKING HAZARD.
Children under 8 years can choke or suffocate on uninflated or broken balloons. Adult supervision required. Keep uninflated balloons from children. Discard broken balloons at once.
It is recommended that children under 8 be supervised by an adult while playing with balloons.
A diverse balloon menu is available including animals, people, and objects. Not to mention all kinds of crazy hats!

Before your event, we can make decorations for your venue including center pieces, candy/treat cups, pillars, and other large sculptures to match your theme (additional fees apply).

We can tailor our offerings to your event theme with custom designs. Two to three weeks lead time is required depending on designs requested. As an example, the Pokemon glitter tattoo stencils were created for a Pokemon themed birthday party. We have also done: clowns, jungle animals, monsters, tribal designs, etc. There are NO additional fees for this service unless designs are complicated and/or time intensive.

We will use reasonable care but will not be responsible for any damage to clothing or property. The client agrees to pay for any damages to the artist's supplies caused by guests or pets. We will not supervise children - their behavior and safety is the responsibility of the client/parent.

Born, raised, and still living on the Florida Suncoast with my Hubby. We have 3 grown girls who have given us 6 grand-kids.

I'm a retired registered nurse, a Girl Scout Cookie (grand)Mom, and an industrious crafter.
I love to create all kinds of things, including of course face paintings, balloon sculptures, and temporary tattoos. The grandchildren make great face paint models when I can catch them!!

My teen aged granddaughter is now my assistant and apprentice. She currently is proficient in creating glitter tattoos and applying metallic tattoos and is learning face painting techniques and balloon twisting.

All face paint is NOT the same. Parents should inquire into the sort of paints being used. You can go to Wal-Mart and buy paints labeled 'face paint'. And they're labeled 'face paint' because they're FDA approved to be...you can eat them and it won't hurt you. The difference is it's not actually made for the skin. It's not cosmetic grade which means it still can cause allergic reactions on the skin.

The most common reaction is contact dermatitis. This health condition is no joke and parents must "face" the facts. And not just the paint. It's also glitter. Little girls love to have lots of sparkly glitter and regular craft glitter is made out of metal cut into squares. If that gets into a child's eye it can cause permanent damage.

You will NEVER see FACEPAINTING BY SUE, LLC use anything not meant for application on the skin. I have not had an experience of severe reaction by myself or any client.

Sometimes, darker colors can leave a slight stain which can be removed by using mild soap (baby shampoo is great!) and water, baby oil, or moisturizer..

FYI - Things You Should Know About Face Paints
While it is true that the activity is called "face painting", professional face paints are actually not paint at all. Professional face paint is actually cosmetic-grade theatrical makeup that is specifically created and intended for use on the skin.

Sadly, there are many products readily available to consumers that are commonly labeled and represented as "face paint" when in fact they are not. These cheap drugstore products do not conform to U.S. ASTM and FDA standards as cosmetics. They can cause bad allergic reactions, rashes and even scars on the skin. Some of the products labeled as "face paint" will actually state on the package that it should not be used near the eyes or mouth (which would make one question how it can be considered safe).

Unfortunately there have been parents who wouldn't allow their child to have their face painted due to a previous bad reaction they had with another face painter (likely caused by someone using acrylic paint or a cheap convenience store "face painting" kit). Professional cosmetic grade face paints do NOT peel, crack, itch or burn. Professional cosmetic grade face paints are safe to use anywhere on the face and body including the eye and mouth area. Whether or not you choose to hire FACEPAINTING BY SUE, LLC, please be sure to ask any face painter what they are using on your delicate skin!
