Farhan Khan (AKA) Flash Sitar

I hired Flash to play during my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and let me tell you, he didn’t not disappoint! He even played a custom song for me while walking down the aisle. All my guests loved him and he played with so much passion. Not to mention, the fun surprise of my guest realizing he was playing Drake. I’m already trying to come up with another event to hire him again. Just amazing!

We hired Farhan to perform at our home as a birthday surprise for my mom. It was last minute & he was able to come. Farhan & his wife Fontain performed together beautifully. I hired Farhan and Fontain for my backyard wedding in August. They were so easy to work with from the very beginning. Farhan was quick to respond and easy to communicate with. Their music was beautiful and loved and commented on by all the guests. They absolutely nailed the songs I requested for our entrances. Overall I am really, really happy to have them perform for our special day.

Their presentation to our 250 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders was engaging and the perfect introduction to the Sitar. At the first moment the Sitar began smiles spread throughout the young audience. The vocals were amazing. She sang in three languages both original and traditional music. Information was threaded throughout the program. I would highly recommend them to any school! I know our students will never forget it.

The melodic tunes of flash playing the sitar echoed throughout the pier at Santa Monica. I was so enchanted by the melody that I had to find the source. Upon discover, I was able to closely enjoy melodies of Zen 432Hz as all worries faded away. I sat there completely entranced by the ambiance created by the tunes of the Sitar and the scenic views of the pier.

The body of that place could be Santa Monica Pier and its heart would be Flash Sitar. Everything what SM represents is represent through Flash. A compression of a peaceful place with people of all over the world. His music means absolute deceleration and the prove that music - even if its origins are at the other part of the world - works as a language. The sitar in Flash's hand is pure non-verbal communication, a statement of SM - SM for Slow Movement - SM for Santa Monica.

It is really just the minimalistic way he's sitting there like a shaman doing nothing than moving the tips of his fingers with that relaxed look in his face. Producing sounds which seem to be extraterrestrial.

We hired Fontain and Flash to play at our birthday/Fourth of July party. They were a pleasure to work with - they showed up on time like they'd said and set up quickly without any fuss or needs from us. They had a plan for a set list, but were also flexible when we had requests. The guests loved the music and several people were inspired to dance! If they hadn't moved to southern California we would hire them again in a heartbeat.

I was beyond happy for my cousin to be getting married. The venue was beautifully decorated and I remember sitting in anticipation for my cousin to walk down the aisle in her beautiful gown. And when she did it was as if everyone had gone quiet and I was able to hear Sitar Music play a beautiful melody that matched my cousin as she walked down. I don't normally listen to the sitar instrument and was taken back by how wonderful it could sound and how wonderful they were playing it. It was more than just background music for a wedding. It was a lovely melody that was the base for the event and I really enjoyed listening to Fontain & Farhan. I highly recommend them for any event they are musically talented!!
