What to Expect
Usually clients will book for an hour or more. For an hour of booking, you will get anywhere from two to four songs with either 15 to 30 minute breaks, depending on how many performers and how many hours. So for example, if you had just me as your performer for 1 hour and you wanted to book me for three songs, we would do three 15-minute breaks with three 2 to 3 minute songs. Three is usually the lucky number for a song length. That is because you don't want the flame to run out. You want the guest to be able to come and go, people get really bored easily and like to go get more refreshments or go tell their friends or use the restroom, and you want to make sure that the guests still get a mix and mingle but still have something to be thrilled and anticipated for.
About
As a birthday gift when I was living in Hawaii, a friend bought me a set of LED poi. I had never seen it before. Took it out of the box, started playing with it and fell in love. Three years later I moved on to fire and I am still learning about the beautiful art in it. I do know enough about it though and feel enough of the "flow", as they say, to share it with you. I'm a startup company that works very closely with a coach and mentor who had an extremely successful fire academy in San Francisco. I am really looking forward for an opportunity to work with you. Poi was developed by the Polynesians and in Hawaii it was used, from what I know, as a form of physical therapy. I find the control within the fire itself, is the beauty within it. Why don't you let me know?esians and in Hawaii it was used, from what I know as a form of physical therapy. I find the control within the fire itself. Is the beauty within it. Why don't you let me know?
Additional Booking Notes
When performing with fire, you usually want to have about 15 ft from you and the guest. A performer never wants anything above them. At least for 20 ft. That is just because you're spinning fire. It goes up. It goes down. It goes left. It goes right. Now if you don't have a super big area that's totally okay. We would just have to go over the space together and see how we can make it work. There is always options. There would be fuel involved so that would have to be in a separate location where there is no smoking and there are no guests. For example, one time I had my fuel below by the hot tub and my performance was at the pool. And as just some additional general questions , Will I need to be bringing my own sound system? That's something that is just needed for performing. Do you want me to perform to something of your own music. Do you want me to wear a certain style costume? Is here and makeup involved. There are a lot of questions, each client is different with each individual needs. So send me an email, let's go over it together.
