If you hired us, you would get a collection of things. To begin things, we would be punctual with pre arrangements and set up time. Another thing that separates Flavor from other up and coming bands is that we always have a draw. In our hometown, our core following always comes to our gigs, and that is on top of the new crowd we have promoted the show to and unexpected crowd members. In our out of town shows, we use our connections to promote our shows and bring the audience. No matter where our show is, there will be a crowd. Not to mention, our followers are never shy to spend a few dollars at the venues bar either. Our core audience is 18/30, but we attract people of all ages regularly. When the day of the show arrives, there will be a punctual and efficient set up time. As the show starts the audience will get a powerful, polished, and well rehearsed set to enjoy. We make sure the energy of the set list makes sense as it ebs and flows to achieve the most potent connection with the crowd. You have to see for yourself. If the event planner needs other acts as well, Flavor is affiliated with many other talented artists of all genres and can provide that.
It has been a long time coming for Flavor. Jordan Kaye(bass/vocals) and Jack Marcrum(drums/percussion) have been playing music together for just over three years. In and out of various bands, they have stuck together to become the tight, dynamic rythym section of Flavor today. In March of 2014, they drafted James Bibb(guitar, piano, vocals) to join and become a funk trio. Throughout 2014, operating under various band names, the trio played all over Pittsburgh and Beaver County Pennsylvania, and also getting the chance to play in Asheville, North Carolina. Now, with 2015 in full fling, Flavor has released there debut self titled EP, as well as played shows in Asheville, North Carolina and Worcester, Massachusetts for Clark University's infamous Spree Day. Flavor draws influence from all music and avenues of life. Specific influences that can be heard are Stevie Wonder, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, and many more. They put on a mostly original set which includes their songs "The Professor" and "Don't Ya Know". When they do play covers, songs include "Don't Do It" by The Band and "Funky Bitch" by Phish. Flavor's music makes any occasion more lively and fun loving with high energy funk music, But can also pull at the heart strings with deep lyrics about affairs of the heart and soul. For venues and events under 250 people, we can always handle our own stage requirements. A house PA system with three microphones is preferred, but we have our own as well. No intricate lighting is required, but is preferred as well. For venues and shows of over 250 people, we prefer a house sound man and a house PA system capable of drums, three vocals, bass, guitar, and a keyboard. For these larger events, intricate lights are preferred but yet again not required. A space in the back of the venue for merchandise sales is also preferred but not required. Thanks
