Hi there, I am Jwala Rejimon, Graduate Student in UNC. I have been playing flute for the past 11 years. During my undergraduate years in Purdue University, Indiana, I was the first chair in the university band. I was member of highest orchestra and band in Carmel high school. I won the competition and I got selected to play the master class for the world famous soloist Ms Jasmin Choi at Butler university performance hall in 2016. I was the only one under 18 from Indy who got that opportunity. Music is my passion and I enjoy it the most!

Jwala started learning flute from Mrs. Balie Strnad in 2009. Balie is a flautist who studied at Ball State University, and she teaches in central Indiana. Jwala participated in her middle school band, and also participated in the regional ISSMA music competition in 7th and 8th grade. As a freshman, Jwala was principal of the Wind Symphony 2 at Carmel High School, and is currently second chair of Carmel’s Wind Symphony 1. Jwala won the Young Artist Competition conducted by the New World Philharmonic Orchestra and was accompanied by the orchestra during their annual finale concert at Hilbert Circle Theatre in Indianapolis. In 2015, Jwala won the Jasmine Choi Masterclass Competition hosted by the Indy Flute Club. She was the only performer under 18 years of age to perform with Jasmine Choi at a masterclass on March 7th, 2015. In June of 2015, Jwala attended the Summer Flute Academy camp at Oberlin University and studied with Alexa Still for a week.
