I am a classically trained flutist who can play any genre of music. I have been taught by some of the world's most influential and prominent flutists and love to teach flute lessons. Alyssa Baranski, 23, is pursuing her MM in flute performance at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music where she is studying with Professor Kathryn Lukas. She holds a BM in flute performance and music industry and minor in entrepreneurship from Middle Tennessee State University where she studied with Dr. Deanna Little. As an active solo flutist, Alyssa has won 1st place in the inaugural MTSU Solo Artist Competition, was a finalist for the Florida Flute Associations College Artist Competition, and was selected as a winner in the Indy Flute Fest's College Masterclass Competition (William Bennett). She has won 1st place in the Flute Society of Kentucky's Collegiate Artist competition, won 2nd place in the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra's Young Artist Competition, won 1st place in the South Carolina Flute Society's Collegiate Artist Competition, was selected as a winner in the Mid-South Flute Society's Masterclass Competition (Leone Buyse), earned a chair in the Nashville Collegiate Orchestra, was a finalist for the 2015 Raleigh Area Flute Association's Artist Competition, was selected as a winner for the 2014 National Flute Association's Collegiate Flute Choir Competition, and was selected as one of six flutists from around the world to attend Trevor Wye's 'The Flute Studio' in Kent, England. Alyssa has been a flute and piccolo substitute for many orchestras including the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra.
Alyssa has a passion for teaching and holds a private studio of flute students. She has also explored her interest in arts administration with an internship with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. She worked alongside the artistic department,music director, and guest artists.
Alyssa is from Indianapolis, Indiana and has studied with Greig Shearer, Nora Kile, Trevor Wye, Dr. Deanna Little, and Kate Lukas. She has had the opportunity to perform in masterclasses for William Bennett, Barthold Kuijken, Leone Buyse, Jill Felber, Francesca Arnone, Erik Gratton, Ai Goldsmith, Rachel Brown, Pat Morris, and Mary Stolper.
