Four and More plays an eclectic and crowd-pleasing mix of jazz-based swing, blues, Latin and funk. With sax, vocals, piano, bass and drums, the band is versatile enough for mellow background music or getting people out on the dance floor. Four and More has regular shows at the Walnut Creek Marriott and No Name Bar in Sausalito, and has played concerts for the cities of Dublin and Fairfield, Sausalito Jazz and Blues by the Bay, Rossmoor, the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkley and many restaurants, venues and private event including weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. All band members are veteran musicians who love to entertain.
Four and More played at our Sunny Glen (retirement community in San Ramon) last night and They were amazing. We can’t wait to have them back. The band manager Kathy was so easy to work with when we made additional requests. She was also a great singer! Everyone had a wonderful time dancing and enjoying the music.
The talent was great. The music selection was great. So many people commented and wanted to know where I found them. I wish we could have had them longer. They were perfect for our client open house.
The music was incredible! The singing over the top.Everybody was up and dancing. They were friendly, on time, and played all of the music we requested. Many of our guests asked for their card for their own events. Would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.
I sent a request for Halloween night through Gig Salad and Kathy was the first to respond. After just a couple of email exchanges, I already love how Kathy is really flexible and easy to work with and when it comes to the day of the performance, they didn't fail and gave us even more! The staff, the management team all love the sound and the band! Will definitely try to have them play again when we have another event!

Four and More is a fun band that relates well to an audience or party-goers. We deliver great melodies and rhythm, swinging dance tunes, heartfelt ballads and humorous blues with some repartee among band members, interesting instrumental solos and vocals with heart. We will be set up and ready to go on time, respect the feel of the occasion, dress/act accordingly, and generally carry out our responsibilities with professionalism and maturity.
Four and More began in 2010 with a regular gig at the Old South Barbecue in Concord. Since then, the band has played numerous venues and events throughout the Bay Area, with highlights including producing and playing the City of Dublin's 30th Anniversary concert with featured guest Zakiya Hooker (daughter of John Lee Hooker); "C'mon, Get Happy," a jazz concert at the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley, and this year's appearance at the Sausalito Jazz and Blues by the Bay series, to name a few. There have been a few personnel changes over the years, but the core group is still together and the changes have only increased the quality of the band's music. Though jazz is their first love, all band members have played a variety of music from rock to rockabilly, from blues to soul, from big band to folk/rock and that versatility enables them to bring an accessible brand of jazz that any audience can appreciate. Four and More's diverse repertoire ranges from the swing tunes of Ellington and Basie to the funky jazz of Cannonball Adderley and Eddie Harris to the soulful complexity of Miles and Coltrane with a liberal dose of Latin grooves, melodic ballads and Chicago blues. All band members are local and perform throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
We prefer a 12x12 foot stage to comfortably fit everyone. We have our own PA system but love it when a venue provides sound support. Beyond that, the specifics of staging and lighting depend on the event.

We love all genres of jazz, from the swing tunes of Ellington and Basie, to the cool sound of Stan Getz and hot bebop tunes made famous by Charlie Parker and John Coltrane to the gospel/blues/rock fusion of Cannonball Adderley. We all grew up with Motown and R&B as well as the blues, so we include that in our repertoire as well.
