Hello, my name is Michael Morahan. I graduated from the University of Oregon in 2013 and I am now living in Denver. I am passionate about music, recording, audio, mixing, and micing. I am familiar with audio mixing boards, many PA systems and I love working with microphones during sound check to get that perfect sound. I would gladly work closely with the current audio engineer or help out where ever possible. I love music and have worked at a concert venue in Oregon, recording studio, guitar center, and earned my minor in music. We hired Michael pretty last minute as we had a change of heart and realized we needed professional sound for our wedding. Right away, Michael spoke with our wedding planner and had a plan in place for how to meet our budget (which was tight) and meet the needs of the day. We provided playlists for the prelude, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception with specific songs at certain times. When sound goes well, you often don't notice it, but when it goes poorly, its a talking point. Everything was perfect. The sound for the ceremony was clear and not distracting and every song was played exactly when we wanted it to be. He brought an extra speaker to bridge the gap when the audio equipment needed to be moved. The speeches sounded perfect and allowed the toasts to be enjoyed fully. For us, hiring Michael is a decision that I am SO grateful we did. Super professional and would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat.

A client should expect me to arrive on time. I will work with the house audio system and mixing equipment. I will create the best possible audio mix with the given equipment.
I can provide the following audio gear:
1 laptop (for recording audio)
1 direct box (for high quality audio recording -WAV files)
2 condenser microphones
2 microphone cables
2 microphone stands + mic clips.
Live recording: two track recording (L & R) XLR directly from the audio board or micing the set to include the crowd (live recording with one or two microphones). I primarily use Logic Pro for recording and post-production mixing. I am fluent in other D.A.W.'s such as ProTools, GarageBand, and Ableton Studio. I would work with the band prior to the show and set up the monitors to minimize feedback and optimize the sound for the musicians on stage.
I can work either from the 'front of the house' or side stage. I am comfortable working with large bands, orchestras, or speaking events with many microphones. I will stay throughout the concert or event and help break down the gear after the show.
I am fluent with many different audio systems and mixers including digital and analogue equipment. If you have digital multitrack recording equipment, we can record the event with supreme quality.
Post production: After the event, the audio can be polished or 'mastered' to achieve sonic perfection. Finally, the high quality audio file will be compressed into an MP3 for easy distribution.
If you already have a recorded live event, please contact me about post-production mixing or mastering.
Why 'master' the recording of your live event? A polished production and performance has a greater impact than hasty work. I will work with you to achieve an excellent product in a timely manner.
