For a decade living and working in Los Angeles, Gene Micofsky was an in-demand vocalist and guitarist, performing events all over southern California; occasionally even being flown to other parts of the country. Now based in Memphis TN, Gene performs solo as well as leads small to large bands, covering the needs of clients with a wide range of needs. His catalogue is massive, ranging from classic jazz and vocalist music to classic rock, to dance and modern pop.
Gene was able to pivot through some pretty chaotic changes after my wedding was rained out. He did such a great job and sounded amazing. I’d book him again in a heartbeat!
Response from Gene Micofsky:
Thank you Ayanna! It was beautiful wedding!

Lively stage performance, and well-versed in good amount of genres. A quick study, perfect for being thrown in to last minute gigs. Creative and inventive player, useful for creating parts and full arrangements when needed. A genuine studio rat...Quick and efficient at recording in the studio.
Gene Micofsky possesses the kind of versatility rarely found in todayʼs musical climate. The dual benefit of formal training and years of stage experience have endowed him with the ability to adapt to just about anything. He freely leaps as a composer and performer from rock and roots music to jazz and classical, making stops to anywhere in between. Gene has been performing professionally since he was 19, touring the east coast with various top 40 nightclub acts, meanwhile earning both a Bachelors degree from University of the Arts (ʼ05) and a Masters degree from Temple University (ʻ08) in music composition.
After completing college 2008, Gene desired a return to what drew him to music in the first place, and founded rock band, East of Anything; serving as guitarist, lead vocalist, as well as chief songwriter. The bandʼs impact on the Philadelphia scene resulted in on-air support from stations such as WMMR, WYSP, WSTW as they headlined most of the major venues in the city.
Always eager for a unique challenge, he began working as the music director and co-songwriter for the Liv Devine band, a pop/rock-country act based out of New Jersey, basically building the band from the ground up. The band has become a staple in the North and South Jersey area, and a favorite of Thunder Radio 106.5. The band has had the opportunity to open up for notable acts such Little Big Town, Joe Nichols, Lee Brice, Danny Gokey, and many others.
Since 2003, Gene has produced scores for filmmakers on both coasts. He has had the great pleasure of working on award-winning features with performances by Joey Fatone (NSYNC, My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Danica Mckellar (The Wonder Years), Clint Howard (Apollo 13) Corbin Bernsen (L.A. Law, Psych), Brian OʼHalloran (Clerks), Ryan Dunn (MTVʼs Jackass), and more. His work has been featured in the sketch comedy show Stupidface for Los Angeles-based TV network Fuel TV. Recent Lionsgate productions Mancation and Living Will are available nationally in Walmart, Best Buy, Itunes, Amazon stores, and more. His foray into the world of horror with Nobody Gets Out Alive, is also available nationally through Image Media. The 2010 feature film Miss December was given a new lease on life when Kevin Smith adopted it for a cable TV run through his Smodcast Productions. The recent short film Los Angeles: Find Yourself received the honor of Best Feature in the On Location: New Filmmakers film festival. His most recent score for the 2013 feature “Patric,” was recorded by the orchestra at Skywalker Sound and mixed by Leslie Anne Jones.
