We are a two-piece father and son live music group from Ava, MO. We play Classic Rock, Folk Rock, Country and Oldies. We have a very full sound, despite there being only the two of us, because we are expert at performing on and programming our keyboard to give us the full band backing we need for all genres of music. Because we are a two-piece group, we are competitively priced. We have a full PA system and can fill small to medium size venues. I play electric and acoustic guitar and keys. Dave plays 6 different electric and acoustic and bass guitars and keys. We have played at local venues and would like to branch out as we have developed more material and capability.

You can check out our YouTube videos for a bit of a look at our stage setup, and check out our audio uploads which are recorded right off the same mixer that goes to the PA during live reinforcement. The videos were taken in a casual setting among friends. We tend to dress up a bit more for paying engagements.
Dave and I were both born in Washington State, and moved to Missouri by way of Minnesota. I have worked for 50 years, but always the dream of playing music was strong with me and although I played all along the way, it was not until I was retired that I devoted myself to music full time. As David grew up. he too, showed an interest in music. I introduced him to an album called "Rockin' Instrumentals" when he had his first guitar and although I showed him how to play many of the tunes, I was shocked when I was coming up the hall with his door closed and I heard him playing one of the ones called "Wild Weekend". I had never shown him that one, and it blew me away that he had picked it up by ear. He was only 12 years old. He played in all the bands at Ava Schools, including the jazz band, and his teacher told me that she didn't show him the bass runs for that music, he just played them. His ability to remember phrasing is amazing.
We use about 1000W total for our audio (includes PA amplification), and 600W for our lights. We have two 15" PA speaker mains with high frequency dispersion horns, on speaker stands or they can be set on the stage directly if the height relationship to the audience is appropriate. The speaker mains need to be positioned forward of the mics in order to avoid feedback, even if the stands are on the floor in front of the stage. We generally run two heavy duty 3-way grounded extension cords, one for lights and one for sound. We have two mic stands with guitar effects pedals at the bass of each, a keyboard on a stand, and a 15" bass cabinet and head, all across the front, with about 6 electric and acoustic guitars and two basses on stands and a Crate acoustic amp to the rear. We have one tripod light stand with 6 par cans on the crossbar, two each red, green and blue.
