Julie Brown-Lead Vocalist & Rhythm Guitar
I have to admit, I was a closet singer growing up, being too shy to let anyone know and afraid of being rejected I kept my talent to myself, using accordion, piano, bass & guitar to express my musical talents. It wasn't until college when a friend of mine discovered, unbeknownst to me, a recording that I had done in private and was asked by this friend "Was that you on that recording because if it was why are you not using this talent?" Thats when it hit me, I had to get out there. In 2003 I formed a group in St John's, Newfoundland called "The Julie Brown Band" I know, how original, but this group brought great experiences and a chance to challenge myself. I relocated to Alberta, knowing that I will continue my music away from home. In 2011, I auditioned several great players, but it wasn't until 2012 that I had the players that fit "Green Eyed Blonde". Green Eyed Blonde has been gigging it up in the Edmonton area ever since.
Musical Influences:
-No Doubt, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zepplin, The Darkness, Hole, and my late Grandmother ( she pushed me to play piano and take lessons for years, thank you )
Jon O'Dwyer -Lead Guitar
I caught the music bug at a young age when I received a Skid Row cassette for Christmas and have been hooked on Rock n roll since. I was mainly a self taught guitar player learning everything off watching videos and live performances of my favourite bands. My music career essentially started in forming my first band In high school playing covers of any grunge band we thought were cool. From there I made a conscious decision to be in ' original' bands that wrote, recorded & performed their own music. Over a span of 10 years I was in different variations of bands on the local circuit but did have what I consider moderate success with two bands , one being Stereokill and another Blunt Force Charm where I sang and played guitar. I love playing guitar, love playing live , and I will rock stages for as long as I enjoy performing and entertaining audiences.
Influences- anything and everyone ranging from Jimi Hendrix to Zakk Wylde, Chuck Berry to James Hetfield..... If someone out there is riffing and killing it on the 6 string I'm a fan.

"I was influenced by music a very young age. My mom came from a family of 11 kids and they all played some kind of instrument. There was always family get together with aunts and uncles playing accordions, fiddles and guitars. I started plunking on guitar when I was 8 and picked up the bass at 12. I was really influenced by my uncles wedding band and it really inspired me to pursue music. I mean really who doesn't enjoy a good polka now and then. Growing up in a small town in Saskatchewan in the middle of nowhere I guess wedding music was better than no music. But once the 80's rolled around things got better. I remember the day my older brother brought home The Game by Queen. That album had a really big influence on me. The crisp basslines and the edgey guitar riffs and of coarse Freddie's vocals. After hearing this album I had to have a bass and begged my parents until they finally gave in. I started a garage band shortly after and we played mostly ACDC and Ramones covers but not very well. Once I graduated high school I moved to Edmonton and was finally able to get some bass lessons which helped a great deal. I played in some really crappy garage punk bands for a few years and then I lucked out and got a job playing in Railroad Steel a full time touring country rock band. We played six nights a week 4 sets a night for a year and then we disbanded. Shortly after that I toured with Doug Bishop And The Modern Day Outlaws partime for about six months. Then I moved to Kelowna and played in a band called Jara. We played original music in bars, colleges, and summer festivals. I've pretty much been in a band for most of my adult life and feel that I probably always will be".

I got into music at a young age listening to my Dads Johnny Cash and Charlie Pride 8 tracks before moving to my older sisters REO Speedwagon and Blondie records. Eventually I found my older brothers Ozzy Osbourne, Twisted Sister and Quiet Riot tapes. I was hooked!!!
I started playing percussion in the school band at age 10. Dad bought me my first drum kit at 14 and I joined the local jazz band. I played in every live local performance group I could find through my teens. Through University I played in a couple of local Rock bands. Recently I have played in bands such as Bones on the Floor and Heavy Rotation before finding my home with Green Eyed Blonde. I love performing live and packing a dance floor!!!
