Groovy Judy LOVEs ❤️ music and is one of the best female guitarists and entertainers in Northern California. She's a featured artist in Guitar Player Magazine's column "Now Hear This" and has won numerous ASCAPlus songwriting awards. She rocks on the guitar ala Jimi Hendrix, sings with the velvety tone of Chrissie Hynde and write songs filled with Beatles melodic touches and Sly and The Family Stone funky grooves. Her message and performance is positive, fun and uplifting. She performs solo & with her 3-4 piece band around the greater Bay Area and Nationally at clubs, festivals, fairs, wineries, wedding, non-profit, private and corporate events.

Judy came to play for a birthday party in our backyard for a Beatles themed event and she was perfect! She showed up on time, got all set up, stayed through the contracted time, and put on a great show. Everyone had a blast!

About
Groovy Judy is one of the best female guitarists and entertainers in Northern California. A Bay Area native, she’s infused with the sights, sounds and groovy vibes from San Francisco’s 60s and 70s. Her music and guitar style is heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and Sly and The Family Stone. Her message and performance is positive, fun and uplifting.
As an independent artist she’s released 2 full length CDs (Groovy Judy, Life) and one EP (A Little Love). Her third full length release, “Love” was just released in the Summer, 2016. She’s featured in Guitar Player Magazine’s article “Now Hear This: Judy Gascoyne.”
She’s won numerous ASCAPlus Awards, was a finalist out of 300 bands at The Emergenza Music Festival and her song “Forgive” won best Inspirational Song from West Coast Songwriters. She’s been a featured performer at the 40th & 45th Anniversaries of the Summer of Love Festivals in Monterey and has opened for rock legends Big Brother & The Holding Company and Jefferson Starship. From her own compositions to covering the best in Top 40, classic rock, funk, R&B, blues and Motown, she puts on an electrifying, high-energy and family-friendly show that appeals to all ages.
When she’s not rocking, Groovy Judy teaches music to kids, teens and adults and donates her time, talent and treasure to non-profit organizations. Groovy Judy loves to spread joy, see people smile and help them feel good.

I'm self contained with my own sound and lighting system.
If sound and lighting is offered, these are my requirements:
1. Band - professional sound system with 2 main speakers and 3 stage monitors.
1. Solo - profession sound system with 1-2 main speakers and 1 stage monitor.
2. Professional sound engineer operating the equipment.
3. Lighting that illuminates the band well enough for video taping or documenting the performance.
