We are a FULL band that does a complete tribute to Pearl Jam, from the first album to the last. Most first night gigs in venues, we begin with the album Ten and add in Vs. If we do more than one gig, you can expect us to have ten complete song sets, 4 songs for encores, and each progressing booking, we'll add an additional album to the show, just as you would expect from Pearl Jam. Our members also write original music, but we only play originals if we've done many gigs at a venue. (Again, this is also keeping in the Pearl Jam vein... we include the same covers they play at their live shows.)
We offer a full night of music- and with the energy and high power musicianship that Pearl Jam is known for.... the only difference is.. our Eddie, Jeff, Mike, and Stone all are women- and the crowds LOVE us! Our performance artists have recorded and toured with well known acts in New York, Los Angeles, and everywhere in between. One or two of us have managed to make our marks in Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. Currently based in Las Vegas, NV, Grrl Jam stands as the ONLY women led based tribute band..and members of the true Pearl Jam, and other heroes in the Seattle grunge have endorsed us.
Singer Cathe B. Jones adeptly takes on the role of Edie V- the contralto, sultry bass, and intonations that could have only arisen from someone with a Funk/Punk band background, (Orgasm Pi), an alternative rock/jazz trio, (Horseless Headmen), solo-multi-tracking singer/songwriter/funk/rock/punk blend composer for The RatmanDo Band, and even a collaborator with King Lizzard in Songs in the Key of D(eath). Her five octave range was trained by CalArts experts, and jazz artists in San Francisco State University's renowned program.
Jezzabella Kipp not only runs a record label and studio,(Fertility Records and The Noise Gate Studio), but has wowed worldwide audiences for her work in bass, composition, arrangement, and getting the stuff done right, well, and professionally. Trained at the New York Conservatory of Music, this French beauty took on New York, and the city took notice! She's now enjoying her desert home in Las Vegas, working on her album with the JazzyBell Project, (Astronymous, September 2014), and managing to blow everyone away with her rhythm guitar work with Grrl Jam- our Stone knows how to roll it out.
You've never heard a bass player do what our bass player does- especially since she's 6'2", and has done it for years- our bassist is also an ace at tuba trilling. Ginger Bruner is our version of Jeff-- laid back strawberry blonde, with a heart that beats in bass notes. Her skills blow people away when she performs in a multi-instrumentalist based Irish punk band, Killian's Angels. Bruner is also a master of visual arts, having honed her skills in photography. Ginger is our only Native Las Vegan, and has the regal presence of a showgirl, plus the common sense of a Southwestern gal.. she's a frontierswoman through and through, and Grrl Jam is one of those frontiers!
Our guitarist is so special, we import her from Berkeley, California, weekly. MikO Tolliver plays as our "Mike"- lead guitarist. She can possess the strings, and as beautiful as California can make them, her presence on stage is inspirational. A singer/songwriter when not teaching new guitarists or playing in Grrl Jam, mikO is known for her poetic lyrics and rhythmic phrasing. Her first album has garnished her quite a fan base and a second is in the works. As the youngest member of Grrl Jam, mikO brings a bit of Vitalogy in the form of youthful grace and punctuation of beauty. Men love her, chicks want to be her.
The drummer of our band, Yasuaki Taniguchi, is the token-male of Grrl Jam, but his talent is astonishing, and he's smart enough to know a woman's version of Pearl Jam is JUST the place to be. Yasu came to Los Angeles in 1999 from Japan to attend Musicians Institute, graduating drums and percussion in 2001.He's played with everyone and everywhere like Whiskey-a-go-go, the Roxy, Troubadour, Knitting Factory & Viper Room opening for famous bands like LA Guns, Metal Shop aka Steel Panther, the Donnas, Sahara Hot Nights, amongst some of the best. Then moving to Las Vegas in summer of 2008, he quickly was sought by top local acts- Frankie Moreno, Sin City Sinners, Tommy Rocker & Hal Savar playing both at the best venues, and the top casinos. We're lucky to have Yasu, and the band is jamming hard with him on board!
We prefer a full backline of drums/amps, monitors/ mics in full working order. Standard stage lighting is fine, and there are times when we sing certain songs that we like a full house lit, (ie GIven to Fly). Our drummer, lead guitarist and singer could work with mics, but the singer needs to have a strong monitor. We have no specific rider, but we do enjoy anything the venue cares to offer, and each member should have no less than four bottles of water available.

The band is eclectic with influences ranging from the Seattle Grunge Scene, high power 1970's rock, to Japanese bands, to punk and all of the music in between. Our sole goal is to be the best tribute band Pearl Jam has ever had.
